This shows how we as humans still have a long way to go in accepting others for who they are, and not the society's idea on who they should be and how they to should act. Coming from a super religious background I can imagine the challenges Nephi had to go through. Nephi's strength throughout the book should be an inspiration to others on how to stay strong in what they believe in. Will definitely read this book. Nice job on the review.

This was beautifully written, Stephanie. The minute I saw the name, Nephi, I knew it had to do with the LDS church. Being a gay Mormon is no walk in the park, and from your review, it seems the character found himself belonging nowhere. I would love to see how he handled it all. I'm definitely adding this to my TBR shelf.

It should like the protagonist isn't accepted anywhere, a difficult situation to be in. Still, I don't think this is the book for me. Your review was quite enlightening, though. Thanks.

I did not like the sound of the plot, as usual it seems to be trying to criticise any religion and the underlying message is that religion will not allow you to fit in and oppress you.

Yet thank you for the review
