It is indeed a unique book. I can't imagine having to eat powdery gruel every day, even if it had been adjusted for my 'nutritional needs." Just ick. Still, if climate change continues to affect the world in the way the book projects, farms, and vegetables will become a thing of the past. Thank you for the lovely compliment and for dropping in and commenting!

This sounds like an interesting dystopian novel, especially because it explores the effects of climate change that are, unfortunately, not dystopian at all. Ella's character sounds fascinating, I wonder how a 65-year-old woman would feel if she had the power to still look and act like a 30 to 40-year-old one. Thank you for your fascinating and insightful review!
The strongest impetus a man will ever have, in an individual sense, will come from a woman he admires.

I found this future to be too close to what our future might become as well. I loved Ella's character, especially the little sparks of mischievousness the author wrote into it. I'm not saying that you can't still be mischievous at 65, it just seemed to bring her younger nature closer to the fore. Thank you for the compliment and for dropping in and commenting!

This sounds like a great interesting read for me who loves the concept of post-apocalyptic genre. Is there any romance in it?

Post-apocalyptic is one of my favorite genres, as well. Sorry, there's no romance in this one. Ella does have a very close relationship with her best friend, but I don't think that counts. Thanks for dropping in and commenting!!

Climate change is a subject that has been talked about a lot with not very much being done about it. Just reading your review,I am reminded yet again of what our world will be if we don't do more.

Unfortunately, that's true. I fear that a bleak future, such as the one Ella lives in, is destined to be ours if more people don't wake up and start acting on the problem, not just discussing it. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

It is sad that such a promising book is characterized with grammatical errors, that detracted from your reading experience. Thank you for your honest review. 💫

Since I'm a big fan of thought-provoking post-apocalyptic or dystopian novels, and since I've thoroughly enjoyed environmental post-apolocalyptic books in the past, I definitely think that I'll enjoy Wark's work.

This is an interesting dystopian science fiction novel on morality, freedom, genetic testing, standing out, and well-developed characters. The book has a free sample on Amazon Kindle and an awesome OnlineBookClub review that highlights the book perfectly. Congrats on the BOTD.

I enjoyed your review, and found it to be really thorough. Sadly, this genre, in my opinion, has been over done in books and movies alike. I just can't get into it anymore, but I will be passing your review along to others who love this genre.

Great review, Kelyn. Thanks,
Well, it seems an informative reference book on environmental science., it is a typical dystopian novel that smartly handled the environmental effects of climate change and natural disasters, while Ella and Riley systematically put forth the possible scenario of 2039. The sample pages hit me on the subject a bit. Hope to read it in full.
