This is quite an old review but exceptionally written. Thanks to the warnings, I don't think that I could read this but it really sounds like those who are into this genre would love this book a lot. You definitely have some amazing things to say about it!

Thanks for a great review! I really appreciate the detail you have put into the quality of writing, storytelling and character development without giving anything a way. Based on your review I need to read this book!

What a wonderful review! Even with your warnings of particular scenes, this seems like a read I would really enjoy. I love reading historical fiction and about people who serve in war. It gives me a sense of appreciation and a reminder for all those people who risk their lives in order to serve their country. I read the sample and I'm pretty hooked. Congratulations to the author for receiving such a positive review! :)

Great review! I'm glad that the author did his research. Books are so much better when the author is knowledgeable on the subject.

Aloha Mr. Burton,

Mahalo Donald N Burton for your service! I was honor to purchased your book. Mahalo as well for the free sample! I was hooked. I was thirsty for more! I truly had to pull myself away from your book. I did not want to stop. I did not look, but I hope you have more books.

My daddy and uncle served. My small business primary job is helping veterans. Mr. Burton with your stellar record this is awesome change to learn history! Again, Mahalo for your service!

Blessings

Thanks for the review. I too might be a little hesitant to like the hero if he has a negative attitude towards woman for the fact that I am one. I do like books that talk about PTSD and other traumas of war because it can be a serious problem.

The personal conflicts that a person face in and after war is a difficult subject that for most of us is sometimes easier to ignore. I'm glad the author uses his own experience s to write the story. Your review was great and the books looks even greater to read. Thanks. - Simon

A great and thorough review. PTSD is real and devastating. This sounds like an important and awareness-raising story. I liked how you worked through your thought processes for ranking and this enhanced my interest in reading this book.

You made me want to read this book--excellent review! I am impressed that the author read your review and responded to the point of supplementing the ending. As a person who knew many returning Viet Nam veterans, and who narrowly missed being one, I want to read this book to better understand their experience.

Great review. This sounds like one that would be hard to forget. I like that it is also diverse. Although historical fiction is not my preferred genre, it does sound like something I would enjoy reading.

Thank you. I have been told it equally applies to today's vets from Iraq and Afghanistan. Be well.

Sounds like a good military tale and a very emotional read. The two fronts, present and the one in the hero's memory, sound horrifying. Great job on the review!
