This. Also the rest of the storyline follows the storyline of Battle Royale 2. I feel like it may be too much of a coincidence. Maybe she's trying to American-ise them.

I did enjoy the series but the third one I thought felt rushed or... something. It didn't have the feel of the others and I didn't think it was only because they *SPOILER* weren't in the arena.

I havent read Battle Rolyale so i cannot compare, but i absolutely loved the series, the third book however disappointed me slightly in the ending, like she was just trying to tie it up quickly, the ending and epilogue was slightly anti - climactic

I agree with what you said about the third book, but it's still a series I would recommend to almost anyone. They're making it into a movie! So excited about that, as long as it doesn't become another Twilight-ish fad (Team Peeta vs Team Gale)

Well im slightly biased as im an avid Twilight fan, and with todays film industry it is most likely that they will do something like that to generate the same buzz as Twilight, after all it made them alot of money!

Cant wait to see the movie though

I loved the series, especially the first book. I agree that the last book didn't live up to my expectations... the ending does seem a little rushed, but then again I may just be disappointed that it was more of a realistic ending rather than the normal "happily ever after." I think there was a lot of symbolism in the book that relates to our generation today, and how we take things for granted. I cried and was so mad when Finnick and Prim died... I wanted Gale to end up in love with someone, too. Overall, its one of my favorites... and if they do come out with a movie, I hope they will follow the actual book better than they did with Twilight. Somehow, the movie never lives up to the book!

Totally agree! And:

Totally agree!
I hated Twilight (actually found the books even worse than the movies), The Hunger Games was MUCH better, with more dimentional (& actually likable) main characters, and I am looking forward to a movie!

I'm Team Gale XD

Anyway, I hated Twilight too. I thought it was over-rated for a series of books that are actually quite badly written.

Mockingjay was generally a bad book. I mean, I do love the series, but I thought that it was too emotionally detatched from everything. I doubt Katniss would become that cut-off, though it's not like I can compare it to any of my own experiences. I agree about the end, it was just tied up too quickly.

I don't really want there to be a movie. I feel that if there is they'll just get the plot and the characters wrong and it will wreck the series for me. Also, I think they'll have to have the rating really high, which means that I won't be able to see it.

I absolutely love the hunger game series. It's fantastic and the story is original. I can't wait for the movie. I hope it's as good as the book :)

I haven't read it, but I'm typing this post for one of my best friends who does not have an account here.
Said by Ail's Friend:
I really liked the first book, the Hunger Games. It was really awesome. But, on the next one, Catching Fire, I found it really boring. I'm a fairly fast writer but I was only on page 50 after nearly two weeks. I returned it.
I'm probably going to read it, but, probably not yet. Not just yet.

I've read only the first book so far (stumbled upon it by accident) and totally loved it. My laziness then prevented me from getting the rest of the series, but you guys made me overcome it :P

Update: Ordered it today, should get it delivered in two days. Looking forward to it!

I ordered the first book on a whim - just looking for something, anything to read. I ordered the next two books the next day! Good stuff, albeit slanted for a younger crowd. I think that it will be interesting to see how they portray the child on child violence in the movie.

I'd say boys will just hit themselves (as usual in life) and special effects will take care of the rest. Hell, if they can make zombies or light sabers, they will take care of this.

The author could've used more harshness in her adjectives. Overall for me its an OK read but not really something pulse racing that would give you a heart attack. I'm gonna read the rest of the series and I hope it gets better. :p
I agree. For me, it's good but it was not really great. Though, I haven't read the second book, just the first, I am not really interested in the rest of the story. I don't know why.

I am not really in favor of love triangle. Maybe because its becoming cliche because of the portrayal of YA lit.
