Since my hubby is a war movie buff, I've seen my share of them, and enjoyed most of them. Also, my brother was in the army in Vietnam, and two of his sons now serve in the Air Force. Due to these factors, I think I might like this book, as I enjoyed the preview I read this morning. It looks like there are good detailed descriptions and humor included, which are always a plus! Thanks for a great review!

I really liked how reviewer has outlined the finer points of current book in the review, buy unfortunately I still will skip this one. I don't enjoy war stories of any kind, so I know that I won't enjoy reading about "soldiers' daily lives" as well. Sorry and congratulations with BOTD!

it has compelled me to study this novel as I like war and history novels.Because this is a true story and pilots life on and off duty is completely described so its going to be a fun to read this book quickly.

Even though it is good to read book out of your comfort zone, at times, this book is not appealing to me at all. Still, I enjoyed your review. I loved the fact that it was based on a true story. Based on your rating I am sure this book will find its audience.

What an illuminating review! Just like you, I had no idea about how much paperwork is a part of aviation. I appreciate that you warned readers that descriptions of war events, if it's not favored, will be boring. I will check it out some other time.

The fact that the book was based on a true story makes it very interesting and exciting to read especially if the writing style is done in a way as if the readers feel like they are right there in the battlefield. There is so much to learn from soldiers and I look up to them for their bravery and fervor to fight for their country! I am looking forward to meet Dan Coobat and be inspired by him. Congrats!

Usually I'm not into war stories, but this one seems to offer a realistic picture of the Vietnam war.

Although I've read some other books on the Vietnam War, I've never read one focusing on the American Military Aviation Unit. I also like the realistic mixture of the soldiers' daily lives and their experiences off-duty. Thanks for an interesting review!
