Even though there were some issues with the editing, the book has a promising storyline complete with well-developed characters. I wonder what secret Maria is keeping, and who has moved into number 18. Thanks for the great review.

Sounds like the book was written with good intentions and brought to light the issues facing young girls at times. However, it would have been nice to know the secrets and outcomes of some of the characters and I guess the changing characters would make it a confusing read. Thanks for the thorough review.

When old secrets coming back to haunt your present, you feel a sort of mister develop. What kind of secret is it? How does it have so much hold on the present? It sounds like an interesting read.

Thanks for your review. I found the number of errors in the free sample already too much. Several sentences lack verbs, several sentences lack punctuation. I didn't feel like reading more.

Thanks for the review, but I have to give this book a hard pass. Besides not being interested in "romance, friendship, family, and discoveries", the story sounds too convoluted, and I don't like that it ends on a cliffhanger, not to mention the changing of characters' characteristics. Thanks for the warning!

While it sounds like an interesting story, there seem to be too many secrets going on. Thanks for this review!

This sounds like a plot for a soap opera, definitely not for me. Thanks for the great review, though.

This book has stockholm syndrome as its main plot. The topic of child abuse is disturbing but real. Nicely reviewed. Congratulations Botd!

The book addresses tough themes, it's unclear what's happened to have the problems you pointed out. Thank you for your informative review!

I'm really glad that you spotted the change in the characters' names and genders that you mention in paragraph 6. Had I been the one reading the book, I could very well have considered that I was the one getting the whole story wrong.
Thank you for your honesty. Based on what you said about the editing, I think the rating you gave it was totally fair.

This book that follows the life of Maria Anderson sounds like an interesting read. I like it that characters' thoughts, emotions, and actions were fully explored. However, I'm not a fan of books involving explicit sex scenes.

The story and theme discussed sound interesting. It's sad that the author made errors with genders of characters and other things. A proof-reading would have made it a better read. Thanks for the detailed review.
