This is a coming of age book that highlights the need for appropriate sex education especially for young children. Lizzy's parents approach left the girl traumatized because it was difficult for them to explain the nitty gritty in a child friendly manner. Reading about a farm girl would be a first for me. It must have been really hard for Lizzy how to tell her parents about the incident with Joey. It horrible that such incidents do happen. This is a fiction novella that follows a story of Lizzy. Her parents are trying to teach her about reproduction, but in a strange way. Her cousin takes some actions that could ruin her vision of love.

Congrats on BOTD. Even though the main character, Lizzy, is a little girl, I don't think this book is appropriate for children or even younger teenagers.
