Thanks for your thorough review. I am glad to hear that keeping the characters straight improves a lot quickly. I also was trying to remember who was who. There was a wide group of diverse individuals. I'm not usually interested in travel books, but the characters do sound interesting. I'll have to think about this book.

The story is throughout connecting with, enlightening, suggestive in certain parts, even. I would not prescribe this to somebody who doesn't care for a tad bit of wickedness in their writing, so wet blankets, this one so Not for you.

I respect Hafferkamp's capacity to see inside the brain of others, extending the story and association with the characters. Jack's capacity to keep the peruser connected with is an artistic expression lost to many guessed creators nowadays, and I anticipate seeing what he delivers straightaway.

The books seems to be really interesting. A group of travel writers, consisting of both experienced and inexperienced ones, going to Central America. Their life stories would be so different from each other. And going to remote places, without even knowing the language seems to be exciting as well as scary. I really look forward to getting to know the characters in depth.

A travelogue is my favorite topic to read in a book. Such books provide us with a lot of information about that land and its geographical boundaries. More precisely the travelogue gives us the idea of the people and their culture.

I am averse to traveling in the Amazon or even to Africa. There are too many predators that view me as food as well as being isolated in an unknown area seems daunting. This #BOTD seems to offer a type of travel guide submerged within a fictional story.

What do writers do when they get together and talk face to face? Being a writer myself I'd like to know the details of the discussions this small group of traveling writers had.
