Somebody's Watching You by Robin D' Amato explains the struggles of a couple and how they got introduced to a cult group through the coverage of a church. Melody is a strong and supportive woman, one that every man would be happy to have.

I wonder how the cultic organizations positively impacted Jeff's health. I shall check this book out.

The plot is really interesting. Cults really pretty on people with mental health issues and it is commendable that the writer has included this in the book. The characters of Jeff and Melody sounds very relatable and I can't wait to read this book. I love thrillers like this. Thanks for the amazing review.

“Somebody’s Watching You” by Robin D’Amato is a fictional novel that is a suspense thriller about a couple that had become involved in a cult and their fight to re-gain their freedom from the cult. Melody and Jeff met in a live music bar in Long Island and they immediately hit it off and found they had a mutual love of music. While they dreamed of living in New York City they really wanted a home in Long Island where they could have their own music room. Ten years later Jeff is suffering from depression and was staying in bed for days at a time. Melody would take time off from work to stay home and take care of Jeff. One day Jeff got out of bed, showered and went for a drive. He was gone for several hours and he returned with a book he was given by Floyd, a member of the Church of Philomathics that was written by Peabody. Melody supported Jeff’s interest in a new religion but had her doubts and realized it is a cult that preys on vulnerable people. The book describes the cult followers as zombies. These cults exist and we need to be aware lest a family member falls victim. I am adding this book to my To-Read Shelf. Very good review.

What did Jeff get him and his wife into? Usually, people go to church for uplifting during dark moments in their life, but this church that Jeff start attending has another angle to its mission. I have to get this book and see how they get themselves out of this situation.

The title to the book sounds really ominous. Cults can be really destructive and can easily bring forth a great load of emotions especially anger when one sees what they do to people. A really intriguing review. Good job.

Somebody's Watching You" by Robin D'Amato is a fictional novel and thriller full of suspense. when i read this like i want to directly finished it, like you are always expecting something to come out, but there is a gap from their romance meeting into the Jeff’s mental illness, i mean i did not get how Jeff can get mental illness.Thinking Jeff can be health by that religious thing is good but looks like theres a hidden agenda behind the religious thing. Would love to continue reading the book, now im imagining how Jeff angry to Melody?. In a real life even taking care a person with anxiety is hard.

It is both interesting and concerning how easy it is for the lead characters to find themselves in the clutches of a cult. I would like to learn more about this cult and how the couple manages to escape. This sounds like an exciting novel. Thanks for the review.

This book is quite a thriller. I love the story of Jeff and Melody but the story is a painful reminder of how failing to deal with depression can lead you down the wrong path. Living in a country where religion is preached from door to door, I could totally relate with Jeff. Not knowing the value of attending therapy and not knowing what to do about depression can make you accept an offer for help, even if it is coming from the wrong person. This book is quite a stark reminder that we need to be careful with how we deal with depression and investigate more the religious groups we would wish to associate with. I applaud the author for this book, this work is so important especially to those currently in and thinking of leaving religious cults. :tiphat: :tiphat:

Robin D'Amato seems to have creatively written this relatable fiction on the issue of religious cults and how they prey on people's minds and control them. I admire that Melody shows strength of character. I would like to read this as it is in the field of my interest, religion. Your are very good with reviewing the book. Congratulations on the BOTD!

Well, belief system can be a controlling force and some leverage it to their gain. I would consider reading "Somebody’s Watching You" by Robin D'Amato in the hopes that the author clarified how to break free belief systems.

A great review. It reminded me of some things I read about scientology, which was an interesting topic. I think I'll give it a try after reading the reviewers take of the book
