I've just finished reading Strong Heart and I think it is an amazing book that spars our imagination. From the ancient occurrences that seem to be happening to a young girl, Sarah, to the vivid description of the Olympic Peninsula National Park.
Good read.

Really enjoyed reading the book “Strong Heart” by Charlie Sheldon. So much so that I finished within an hour.
It reminds me of my own grandfather’s story!
The writer vividly describe the place as if you are there when you’re reading it.Emma’s description as a 13 year old, is most of us at the age. Interesting and mysterious - readers will want more

This sounds like an interesting book and quite thought provoking. It's like a "clash" of two generations (Tom and Sarah), both experienced in their own way, both having something to teach the other one. Besides I love reading about the legends of various cultures and Native Americans have loads of them. As Tom's friends are Native Americans I'm sure the author will tell us about some of their traditions. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

The audible narration of Strong Heart was not the strongest narration I’ve heard. The narrator’s voice sounds very monotone and robotic at times, having a tinny ring to it. I’m not sure if this is due to the recording or if it is the narrator’s actual voice. Voice variation was provided for different characters and though mostly successful, felt forced and confusing in some places. More than once, the narration failed to hold my attention; however, the curious storyline kept me wanting to listen.
That would drive me crazy. It's sad when such a good book gets a boring narration. I hope the author considers your review and improves this.
Strong Heart provides a magical blend of science, native mysticism, and the exploration of familial ties. These themes are all interwoven throughout the story, creating a cohesive and powerful plot. The book is written partially in Sarah’s point of view, as she recounts the outlandish events surrounding her disappearance. Sarah’s voice was the most successful aspect of the story. The author masterfully captures the essence of a teenage girl, lost in the world, and trying to believe in herself when most others don’t believe in her at all. Sarah’s narration was both captivating and enigmatic. I don’t think I’ve ever read about a girl like Sarah before, and I find myself contemplating her character long after the story’s end.
Sarah seems like a fascinating main character! And it takes a talented author to create a believable teenage voice.
The main characters were not given much backstory, which would normally be a negative aspect of any book; however, it worked really well in this novel. As the plot progresses, the characters develop based on their unexpected interactions with each other. Their mysterious backgrounds only add to the enchanting, mystical tone of the story. While listening to the novel, I felt like I knew everything about the feelings and internal struggles of the main characters. However, after some reflection, I realized the author actually provided very little detail about the character’s lives, proving his talent as a writer.

You make a very interesting point. I usually consider character development the most important aspect of a book, but I understand how the dynamic you explain can be fascinating if properly executed.

Amazing review! Thank you!

I do love read Sheldon's books. Although, I must admit, that so far, it was Sydney Sheldon, but thanks to this review I was able to broaden my horizon and believe that from now on it could be Charlie Sheldon as well. Heartfelt congratulations on BOTD!

I've never listened to the audio but I read this book and I think it's amazing. It's a nice coming-of-age story and Sarah is an interesting character. After reading your review, I agree that the characters weren't given much back story. Thanks for the review

The story follows Sarah, a thirteen-year-old girl with seemingly no place to call home, and Tom, Sarah’s grandfather. Completely unaware of Sarah’s existence, Tom only learns about her when she is unexpectedly dropped off at his front door. An exciting book to read.

This sounds like a book I need to check out! I am curious about Sarah and why she was a surprise to her own grandfather. I am also curious as to why she disappeared while they were on the way to the cemetery. It sounds like there is a lot of mystery to the story! Thanks for the excellent review!

Sounds like an interesting story and I prefer to actually read the book than to listen the audible version. Thanks for the insightful review!

I've never seen a review about an audiobook, though I'm not really into them. I still prefer the hard copy anytime. I'd love to read the book because I'm curious to know how Sarah's story ended and why her character is captivating
