I tend to gravitate toward books with well-developed female characters. Greta sounds like a shallow female lead. Thanks for the honest review.

This is a reply to the official review of the A Woman's Prerogative by Steven C. Brandt. While I agree with most of what the reviewer wrote, I did not find the female character to be weak. Maybe she is less well written deeper into the book. The book it's self has hooked me into having to finish it. This reviewer got the book 4 out of 4 stars. I is a well written review.

Sounds like an interesting love story with a twist, I like that the characters sound pretty well-developed and there is some family history provided for context.

Suspense is a trait I love in a story. I'm glad to know that the book falls on one of my favorite genres, historical fiction, and that the characters are well-developed. Though, the romantic adventure doesn't interest me, I'll give the book a try. Quite an insightful review. Thank you.

After reading the sample pages I am undecided. I love stories about strong females but the historical information is a turn-off for me. Historical fiction and gold mining is fascinating for some but not all. However, your review piques my interest. The good ”ole” boy network is everywhere and it’s hard to fight against. It sounds like a suspenseful read with the mutinity, paternity test, and kidnapping. Thank you for the thorough review.

Interesting to know that this book deals with family secrets and has historical roots to the 1840-1860s gold rush. I like that it has a realistic ending. Great review.

Sounds like a good romantic drama with well-written characters that are easy to root for. Can't say I'm really a big fan of the romance genre, but there are clearly tons of other things to love about this book, including the historical elements and adventure! You had me intrigued as soon as you mentioned gold mining and treasure hunting!

I just finished Mistress Suffragette, so I think that this book would have similar themes.

It sounds an interesting historical fiction that takes to the life struggle of a woman in the field of business and politics.

Good review. I’m not into mining but I am into romantic and historical stories. This sounds like something that will catch my attention. I’ll give it a try.

I think it is a good book, covering historical times, a a bit of romance and family drama. I might as well read it for the sake of the female characters and how they were no so much developed.

A romantic adventure which includes descriptions of gold-mining written in an engaging manner sounds interesting to me. Thank you for the review!
