Wow....
Sounds like the author really had to go through a lot as a kid... Nice book though for those who aren't sensitive to the theme of the book.
Thanks for the informative review.
Congrats on BOTD.

Beneath the Surface portrays the real-life story of the author in a fictional mode. The five short stories depict the author's struggle against the turmoils of his life.

This review is
a critical study featuring an insightful analysis of the author’s recurring themes, that are a little bit too much for me. So I think I’m going to pass on this one. Nice review and congrats for being BOTD.

Looks like the book delves into some heavy and sensitive topics. The theme probably isn't really my cup of tea but based from the review, there's no denying that it will leave an impact to the readers. I will definitely recommend it to others.

I like the title. When we look only at the surface, we miss what is swirling around underneath. Great review!

The development of the characters is pretty real. As well, the idea of touching a really complex topic as young adulthood help a lot to the reader to feel identified. Also some others emotional and sensitive topics as death illness and sexuality makes the characters feel more and more human.
Great review which really inspire the potencial readers to take the chance and read it.

This book is very intriguing. I appreciate the guilt he felt as a thirteen year old. He felt responsible for his mother's illness and wanted to take care of her. This book shows much promise.

There are topics lots of people would never talk about in real life ,to talk of writing it. People really pass through a lot trying to help family at young age when they seem "different" somehow. Interesting
