Was Lizzy's parents right to allow her to learn about sex in that manner?

Nine-year-old Lizzy was brought by a family who has unconventional ways of child rearing. She has experienced trauma and sexual assault at such a young age. The book covers a lot of sensitive topics, which I don’t have the heart to read. Congrats on BOTD.

This is an interesting story about Lizzy and I wish she had met the right sources to learn the right things in her life. Great story here!

I don't know how to interpret audience of such books when obviously the author is trying to educate teens and kids about sexual harassment but we refrain them from reading the book altogether.

The review is great. But I am sure there is a better way of teaching children about sex.

The plot of the novel Lizzy Baby is surprising. I'm not into this type of book but I guess others might like it. Congrats on BOTD!

I do commend the author for discussing a troubling issue in her book. Many unfortunate children have to face sexual harrasment, especially in domestic environment. Thank you for the review!

Lizzy was probably traumatized by what her parents showed her. Her cousin masturbating in front of her is definitely assault. I think I will skip this book as it deals with topics I Would like to avoid. Thank you for the review.

What Joey did is very disgusting and I hope that Lizzy was able to be protected from further harm. Thank you for this review!

This book is great about teaching preadolescents about life and sex. I like the realistic way it's been written. Great review.

This is, simply put, a book about a sweet girl facing the challenge of the average girl. I'm so curious to see how things play out for sweet Lizzy.

It would be awful for anyone to experience this, not to mention a nine-year-old! Reading about stories like these gives me a new appreciation for my parents and my upbringing. I hope that Lizzy was able to rely on an adult for help! Congrats on the BOTD selection!

I find this story disturbing, and it raises a lot of questions. Sexual molestation is common and happens even to younger children, but why would a parent teach a nine year old about sex in this manner? And, when would females indeed have a voice over religiosity and other forms of dominance? Thanks for your detailed review.
