Good review. Seems like a good story about an unlikely friendship. Hopefully it can help some realize that love comes in many forms.

I like that the book explores all facets of love. We can always learn from others experiences.

Thanks for your review, the story sounds interesting and engaging, what could you do for others at the end of your life, and the importance of love. I am sure I am going to read this book very soon.

Sounds like a memoir of some sort. Though the plot doesn't seem appealing enough for me, I would very much want to know the past Charles wanted to bury so badly. Also, it sounds like the Great Gatsby, where a young person meets a highly-established enigma and wanted to write about his life. Wouldn't mind adding this to my to-read list. Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the review!

It is always interesting to discover why people do the things they do, the story of their past, and who they are now. Add to that a spot of philanthropy and lost love and you have a story many will enjoy. Too bad about the errors. Hopefully, the author has cleaned them up.

I know they say not to judge a book by its cover but the terrible word art is a huge turn-off. Details are important to me and if you do something like that in your work with the first impression item it makes me worried about what is to follow. That being said the review seems very positive and it sounds like there is a great deal of character development so that is great!

This sounds like an interesting story, not one that I think would be one that would appeal to me. It was interesting to hear your views on this novel.

Good review. Sounds like it could be an interesting story, if it's true that there are some unexpected twists. It's hard to find a book anymore that truly hasn't been played out before in one way or another. Although them finding different types of love in one another seems a bit strange, friends, family, and as man and woman. Seems it would be kind of Harold and Maude to me too, except an Auburn rather than a hurst.

This seems like an interesting exploration of human relationships - love, trust, guilt and regret. The sample was easy to read and quite engaging - I’m sure most will enjoy reading this book. Congratulations on #BOTD

So this Charles could not trust completely to Karen. I understand that since she's a reporter. I like when characters aren't static but develop throughout the story. But I hate when there are many grammar errors in the story because that distracts me. Thanks for the review!

Thank you for the insightful review. I think that if each of us spent just one whole day with a senior citizen and took the time to hear their story, our lives would be so much richer. I look forward to reading the rest of the book.

I could care less about grammatical errors. The book seems interesting and for me that's more important. Congratulations and looking forward to read this and see how she gets the story. Awesome review.

From your review & what I've read so far, I think this could be an engaging book--it just needs some professional editing. I agree with your decision to drop the score. I found 3 small errors just in the 1st paragraph! But, although I usually agree with ButterscotchCherrie, I'm intrigued enough by the storyline to keep reading--at least a little bit at a time.
