From the insight on the subject matter provided by the review, I feel incredibly drawn toward this. I might be able to relate some of these with stories I know. I would love to read how her life changes. Thanks for the review!

This book definitely teaches a lot of moral lessons and touches a lot of relevant topics in society today. I applaud the author on the effort put into bringing a fictional character to life expertly. Nice review.

I would like to read Lydia Japhethson's story because of her triumph over the injustices meted on her when young. I like the description of her using a gun an a plan to start her journey of revenge against those who committed the vileful acts. Great review.

I am just wondering what Gog stands for and this is the first reason am reading it. The book sounds engaging and character driven. I would love to know more about Lydia and watch everything unfold. The book is free on Amazon Kindle today.

I'm not a big reader of abuse stories, but I know that they need to be told in order for us to see how victims are affected and what could come out of abuse and bullying. I might be interested in this book for the emotional and unpredictable aspects, but I'll want to wait for a time when I can best handle such an emotional strain. Thank you for the helpful review.

This book revealed how childihood trauma could shape a person as an adult. It causes an adult to act out in an bizarre way, as did the protagonist Lydia did in this story. All in all the story makes it fascinating to read.

Thank you for your wonderful review, I enjoyed reading it :) This sounds like an enthralling read, you've put this one right near the top of my 'tbr' list. I like that the main character is so unhinged, people like that usually make the best kind of reading.

After reading the review I personally feel that this is a must read book📖. I have known people who had to face such trauma in their childhood. I kinda like the protagonist. I have indeed enjoyed reading the book. Thank you for such an amazing review 😊👏

I am not a Gog by Matthew James Hunt, is about a woman who snaps over the unresolved injustices committed against her when she was younger and decides to even things out in the most drastic way she can conceive. The first few pages grabbed me. They are alive with the thoughts of the deeply troubled protagonist who wants to break free from a life of being maltreated and then discarded or ignored. It is as if she stops you in the middle of the street and, as much as you're in a hurry, you cannot just brush her aside. There seem to be shades here of Dog Day Afternoon but of course, the two stories are about two different complex characters. I enjoyed the very helpful review of juliekay who has provided a stirring introduction of sorts to the book. This book was first published in 2015 and I 'm glad that through the OnlineBookClub, I am Not a Gog will find new audience. Congratulations to the author for what promises to be a gripping character study and a drastic bid for justice with an outcome that is unclear and will surely be a page-turner to the end. Who among us has a wrong done to us that haunts us to this day? Up to what point can we relate with Lydia? Will we find parts of ourselves in her? What revelations about Lydia's life that will strike a chord in us?

Your feelings towards the main character can be felt through your words. I really liked how you wrote this review. Just by reading this I can feel the heartbreak you talked about. This book is definitely going to my TBR. However, I'm not comfortable reading about abuse and gun violence, but still, I might check this out. Thank you for this review. :tiphat:
