I have also noticed the beauty and lyricism of the author's writing style. Dan Gray's annus mirabilis in Colorado seems like the perfect pretext for sharing wonderful stories and valuable educational lessons. Thanks for this review!

Morning Is Always Nigh. The 1950's Colorado must have been a very beautiful place to live. As someone with interest in Environmental and Marine Ecology, the various species of fauna and floral is also an invitation to explore the book. It also makes me reflect on my own childhood and my family; quite nostalgic with an evocative sense of place.

I read the review and find myself so lucky to get this wonderful book for free. What is not to like? I love the 50's. Adventures, pictures and descriptions of the life in Colorado? Even tips on fishing. I wouldn't find it difficult to just want to visit Colorado after finishing this book. My congratulations to the author. Poems are just frosting in the cake for me. Thank you.

A young adult and his adventures in the Colorado Rockies sounds like fun a story for some. It's great to hear that the book also served as an educational tool, learning about Colorado and its animals. Interesting how the author included some poems here. Also, I like that you found the narration to be good, the vocabulary to be rich, and that there were no errors. I'm glad you enjoyed this one very much! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

I'm interested in knowing how the author uses language in this work. A book set in the 50's will automatically have social and political constructs that are unfamiliar to many younger readers, and nostalgic for a few older ones. The appeal of mountain adventures, fishing, and picnics, however, is lost on me. Solitary adventures just don't do it for me, but delving further into the lifestyle of a family living in near wilderness might! While I'm not interested in learning how to catch a fish, look at plants, or fule a plane from the Cold War era, I am interested in seeing how this young man grew up based on his family dynamics and surroundings! Maybe I'll give this book a try! At the very least I may just like the poems. :D

The book surrounding the life story of a 12 year old boy living in Colorado sounds to be adventurous as well as informative as it also gives details about the flora and fauna of the region. Colorado is one of the regions which have been intriguing for me. So, I am going to read this book. Thanks for the review!!

I think this would be an interesting read. I love documenting and sharing stories about my own family adventures. I would like to read what happened during the "abandoned mining areas, buying and flying an airplane, emergency landing and fueling of the airplane, the treks and the picnics in the mountains, encountering the ghost train and the mountain lion, helping a pregnant woman using the jeep during a heavy blizzard, etc." I also remember all the fishing trips growing up with my dad, so I wouldn't mind reading about this one, since my dad is gone and I can no longer go with him. Over all, I think I could enjoy the adventures of another family.

This book seems to be full of adventure. I would really like to know how the author has described the Colorado. This would give us insight to it's nature. It must be a good read.

It's an interesting fictional story that serves more as a Colorado tourist guide. Great review.

A book set in the 1950s is not my ideal choice but I'll definitely give this a try

This sounds like a great book on exploration. Danny must have been very brave to buy and fly an airplane, not to mention the emergency landing! That must be something to read. Thanks for the review.

Simply brilliant and written in marvellously outstanding way. It feels like you are travelling colorado, sometimes trying to fly an aeroplane, othertimes helping a lady in trouble and driving in a hero-style. This book rather i would love to say 'journey' is full of adventures, rich of knowledege and offers plethora of quality vocabulary.
