It's interesting that you point out that "Charles has deep secrets that hurt people in so many ways." Yet, Karen's initial interest in him is initiated by his generosity towards the town and its people. It seems that Charles may be attempting to atone for those secrets.

I really wasn't expecting this to be a love story of any type. It will be interesting to see what part love has to play.

This is a well-written review of Charles' Story by Steven Wilkens. As I have sampled this story, I too felt the same.

Throughout my reading, I was intrigued by the story. Each sentence was pushing me to read the next one. This novel has beautifully drawn characters and fitting conversations. I liked the way the story gradually unfolding to stimulate the readers. I found it a thrilling experience.

The negative part is, there are many spelling errors and grammar mistakes. They hindered the free flow of the story. Overall, this is a great book that will give pleasure to the readers. The reviewer has awarded 3 out of 4 stars which I feel fit for this book.

I feel, after reading the review, a score of 3 out of 4 is appropriate. Charles sounds like an easy to love character, but the punctuation and editing errors sound very annoying. I will be adding this to my reading list.

A fiction novel where a young journalist is after a reclusive billionaire for an interview about his good deeds in funding charities, it has a heartwarming tone as the two main characters explore the billionaire's past

Thank you, for this comprehensive review, and I absolutely agree with your rating. I was totally absorbed by the sample, and was just getting settled to read on when it ended. So, naturally, I'm looking forward to reading the full story. The characters are really interesting!

Great review! As soon as I saw the book cover, I had no doubt that the book invokes certain feelings of. But I think compared to its content, the grammatical errors are somewhat insignificant. Kudos!

I enjoy character-driven stories and I like the idea of figuring out WHY someone is so generous, but those grammatical and spelling errors sound a bit difficult for me to overcome. I won't entirely write it off yet; I'll just wait until I'm more in the mood to get past such things. Thank you for the helpful review.

I don't usually care for books about flashy cars and the wealthy, but the description peaked my interest and I'm so pleased that I decided to check it out.

It's not about flashy cars. Without (hopefully) being a spoiler - everyone has a story to tell. I found Charles' character intriguing and marvelled at how one person (Charles Henderson McCormick) can make a difference without needing the 'name and fame' for being altruistic, though reporter Karen Snow decided to find out who this mysterious benefactor was to the improvements and good deeds around town.

"Charles' Story" by Steven Wilkens is an excellent combination of humour, intrigue, and a flowing pace that made me want to 'turn the pages'. :tiphat:

Karen Snow, curiosity sweeps her off her feet. I believe we all love, love, in whatever form or shape. Curious to see how Charles' life is affected by love lost for the wrong reasons and does life have to be full of regrets, or can it culminate in something else? (Readers who enjoy watching people evolve as they explore their lives will enjoy this story) With my hand lifted up, this is me! Your review feels well thought off and beautifully written. Thanks.

I am sure Karen has a lot of things to learn from Charles McCormick not only to write her article, but also as valuable life lessons. I have a feeling at the end she may choose to either not write the article at all or write a whole book about it. Thanks for your review!

This sounds like a great story! An adventure that helps them learn more about themselves and each other. It's a shame about the grammar and spelling mistakes though! I usually find that very distracting if it happens frequently!

Lovely review. I love that the book has lessons. However, i will have a hard time convincing myself to read this novel because of the grammatical errors and the bit of the plot that is predictable.
