The stories are funny but at the same time make the reader think deeply. Toby's story is sweet that he falls in love with a prostitute, Brandi, who is a nice person. The insightful conversations between the narrator and his wife are interesting. The stories reflect life.
This collection of short stories will introduce readers to a cast of unlikely characters. There's a pimp who considers himself a savior, a seventeen-year-old boy who travels to Michigan for sexual experience, a well-read pedophile, and many more. The writing is intriguing and will keep readers flipping the pages.
This is a well-detailed review. At first I thought it was a book of children's stories, but your review has shown me they are quite rich stories I'd enjoy. I'd particularly like to know whether Toby succeeded in marrying his new found love, but I don't think she'd be good for him.
I like when a collection of stories are tied to one theme. In this case, the common them is life. I can't wait to dig deeper into the stories; I expect them to be fun.
Hi @Ejimma Chika Promise, I just read your comments on the official review of "Fact Check and More Probing Tales" by James Hanna and there is so much more to this story than the trip to Michigan City. For example: "Fact Check and More Probing Tales" by James Hanna is the 6th book he has written and it includes 22 short stories. These stories cover a very wide range of topics about modern life and some of them are very humorous and some will cause readers to think. Hanna wrote these stories at different times in his life and they were published in several magazines. Each story has an interesting title and several titles are funny. Hanna had a long career in the criminal justice system so many of the stories are about his experiences. Several of the stories involve Toby Dawes, a young man from Indiana whose dad took him to Michigan City when he was 17 to get some sexual experience. Toby met Brandi at the brothel and he fell in love with her and his quest to marry her led to several adventures. There are also a few stories about Tom Hemmings, a guard at the penal farm and in a later story he had become a counselor at the prison. Three of the stories are about Donald Trump including one that details the first impeachment and the pandemic. I am planning to read all 22 stories. @Mrlefty0706
