This book would have been right up my alley, if only there wasn't terminal illness involved. I do enjoy reading live stories and there are always tragedies and suffering mentioned to some degree mentioned, but I refuse read book whre reader is in the know from the start that it will end with death of main character.

A story about friendship, death, and powerful women. I think this book sounds like a great read because it combines some interesting elements. I think it would be nice to read from the perspective of older women.

Great review. Sounds like a version of the bucket list. I love how Aunt Opal wants younger women to enjoy her last moments with. It seems like a fun adventure and I can’t wait to read it.

A book about female friendships and working through life’s challenges sounds like a good book to read with a cup of tea.

I like the review of this book. It sounds like an adventurous and heartwarming story that is an easy read. Aunt Mary Opal may be dying but she and her young friends share secrets and a sisterhood. Thank you for the enlightening review.

One thing I've always wished for is a girl squad. A team of women-friends who uplift and encourage each other is priceless. I'm a bit worried about the lesbian romance mentioned in the review, but I'm open to discovering other friendship gems and seeing how I can apply them in my personal dealings with my friends. Thanks for the review.

This sounds like an inspiring book about life, love, and laughter in the face of serious illness. Aunt Mary Opal is the friend (and aunt) that all of would love to have. I understand her wanting to keep her illness a secret. Knowing about it would have affected the way her friends treated her, and she wanted a more equal relationship. I loved reading your review!

The book sounds pretty interesting. Despite the number of serious topics like emotional abuse, inability to stand up for herself, assisted suicide, distrust, the events are told with humor and that I believe will attract lots of people. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I'm glad the main character is able to make new friends and has happiness in her last days. I appreciate that there are "many misadventures and funny moments." It sounds like something I would enjoy reading, except I'm afraid it would have a sad ending. Thanks for a wonderful review!
