I feel empathy for Ingrid about the loss of her father. I know how it feels to lose someone especially if you think you could have made a difference if you were there when they are on their sick bed. Her love for music is appealing and interesting because I love music too. I think this is a book I would enjoy reading. Thank you for this review, it is very informative. Thanks, @Prisallen !

Thank you for your kind words.

It is so hard to let someone go, especially if you don't get to tell them goodbye at the end. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did. Thanks for reading my review and commenting!

I agree that this sounds like a depressing book, but interesting as well. I am curious about the title, but I assume it would be a plot spoiler if you explained it. I enjoyed your review.

Oh my! Are we killing Joe? I love the name Ingrid. She seems to be someone I can identify with too.

Slow books tend to turn me away, but Ingrid seems like such a complex character. She wants a good life, but seems to keep looking in the wrong place for it. Great review!

Now I would really be spoiling it if I told you that, Miriam! :D You will just have to read the book to see.
