The violence and explicit sex aren’t appealing to me in a novel. The cover and title of this had me thinking it was going to be about a reviewer with a stack of books to get through! Thanks for more insight on this one. It was not at all what I thought it was going to be.

I felt really interested in the book throughout the review (because I like dramatic character-driven stories) until I read the last line so I guess it's not for me.

So far, I've been reading books with only flat characters, so this seems really interesting. It really seems like a journey for CJ where she changes and grows. Great review.

This seems a story about private life and work life becoming so separate that a marriage can be destroyed. I see that there are a number of ramifications with consequnces for the protagonist. Probably not my kind of stuff, but it seems well developed. Thank you for your great review!

Handling personal and professional life together is pretty difficult but choosing work over relationship is even harder. Excellent story. Nice review.

A very enjoyable story about the struggles of sustaining a family and the job at the same time. Thanks for the review.

Today's BOTD sounds good! Thanks for the awesome review!! I've added it to my WTR list. :-)

Realistic characters and events drive the storyline in today's BOTD. On the outside, CJ's life is perfect...but, everything isn't always what it seems. When CJ's personal and professional lives collide, she is forced to deal with issues that have been sitting on the back burner for some time now. Cannot wait to watch the drama unfold in this one! Thanks, again!!

I feel bad for CJ already. It's surprising but factual how one can be very intelligent, but not just intelligent enough to fix their relationship issues. It must also be very challenging for CJ in her bits to strike a balance between her personal life and her professional life. This book must be a really good read!

This work tells of a woman who is having professional success but her marriage falls apart and she feels unable to save him. It seems suitable for those who love dramatic character-based stories.

I like character-driven books and CJ seems like a memorable character. Her plight is all too familiar with many women. I often wonder if career success has to come at the expense of a happy marriage. Why can't women have too?

I love a good character-driven drama as long as the characters are well drawn. It definitely seems like they are here. I am interested in seeing what this secret that could ruin her reputation is. Thanks for a nice review.

I would love to read this book. The storyline is wonderful. For some professionals, it's somehow difficult to combine work and family life and I can understand McCarter's challenge. Nice review.
