From the title and cover of this book, I would never have guessed it was fiction! It is interesting how Jay visited the bank posed as a customer there to get a loan. That was a smart move. It sounds like this book is entertaining and beneficial at the same time! Thanks for the great review!

I love the originality of the story. I agree change is difficult, but not impossible. In any organization, clear and defined goals are essential, otherwise, what are you working toward?

Thanks for the great review. I am finding the book quite interesting, though the foreword was rather lengthy. From what I have read so far, I can see why Jay wanted to take a look at one of the bank’s branches to get a feel about the customer service, but the scenario seemed a little long and not very realistic. I know I would not stand in line for a teller if I wanted to see a bank loan officer. However, it did get the point across that the customer service was lacking. It was not difficult to guess the real reason. I felt some sympathy for the Executive assistant and Jay could have picked up on certain things a lot quicker. Writing a business self-help book in the form of a story is a nice idea and it is a refreshing change. I believe all Managers; business students and office professionals could benefit from reading this book.

Seems like Amy Hamilton has a first-hand experience in the banking industry. I have accountant friends and friends who work in banks; and everytime they talk about work, I always feel out of place. Since the story also serves as an informative/educational book, I expect this could show me the lense or perspective my friends have over the banking stuff. Great review btw.

Going undercover revealed the truth about how the bank treated someone who truly needed a loan. I love the idea of telling a story and not copying down a set of guidelines to follow. It seems that this book would be useful in all areas of life. Change is difficult and resisted when we cling to our traditions. Great review!

Personally, i think that there is always a space to improve and change things for better, overall, but especially in business. This seems a very motivational book.
