I hope Lizzy told her parents and Joey got his comeuppance. I like coming-of-age stories and this seems like a brief, well-executed book, but I don't know if the topics in the book could be too triggering for me.
Thank you for your sensitive, detailed review.

The premise of this book is awful, which I guess it has to be. But for such a topic it is too short. When never find out what happens after. However, it is a reminder who those closes to our children are very dangerous. Sad to see Lizzy's mother not being a supportive as she should have been. Great job with the review but I don't think I would exclude teens from reading this book. I think they should and learn about inappropriate behavior and what to do in these kinds of situations.

This is book that covers a sensitive topic. Owing to some of the themes within this book. It is not ideal for children. It is intriguing to see how Lizzy dealt with her dark experience. Thank you for the free copy. Congrats on being BOTD.

This does sound like an interesting character-centric book, and I like the setting on a farm, but it probably won't be something I pick up, as the mature content isn't for me. Thanks for the review!

A short novel about a young farm girl. It explores topics about the girl's learning about sex. It has an appropriate development of characters. I find it interesting.

I'm not sure about Lizzy's parents way of teaching her sex ed. I mean why do some parents as if run away from the responsibility of teaching their kids sex ed and allow their kids to pick up info anywhere but them? Kids are not dummies not to understand sex ed. And I feel sorry for Lizzy she had to experience those from a family member.

Given the subject matter, this is not an easy book to read. However, I suppose it does help people understand how others who have experienced trauma at a young age cope and search for answers

This pounds like an interesting story. Some parents doesn't actually know how teach their children about sex education but making them watch animals having sex is out of the way.

This is an educational coming of age, fictional novella highlighting a nine-year-old farm girl, learning about sex, and a book suited for adults. The book is temporarily free on Amazon Kindle and has an inciteful OnlineBookClub review. Congrats on the BOTD selection.

What happened to Lizzy is immoral but it's not uncommon in the countryside. Coming of age books always have meaningful messages but they are not my cup of tea. Great review btw!

The most surprising to me thing about today's Book of The Day is the somewhat confused question: - Does 32-page qualify to be considered a book? To my understanding is more akin booklet or even a brochure. And since I have no interest in the subject I prefer to skip. Anyway, congrats!

The content of the book is truly unusual. I have to admit I admire Lizzy because in those years she really endured everything. I think the idea of her parents, to introduce her to sex at that age, is premature and even counterproductive.

The novella explores how families may have different ways of dealing with sex education and child molestation. Congratulations on Book of the Day!
