War stories and slow paced. What a dichotomy! Anyways I will give it a pass as war stories dont interest me. Great review btw. Its is quite detailed and clear.

The everyday life on base, during war, sounds very interesting. I am skipping this book because of the graphic war stories - I don't want to know them. Thank you for the review.

I am terribly sorry to say, but the war related stories or any type of books involving anything remotely military are definitely not my type of preferred entertainment. To me it is not only patriotism and heroics, but violence, blood and gore. Apologies, but I will have to pass this book. Still congrats on BOTD!

I'm honestly not a huge fan of slow-paced war stories though reading from your review I'm keen to read the book.

It's nice to see a war story that isn't suspenseful but rather touches on subjects like death and destruction. However, I'm not interested in reading a book about the Vietnam war.

I must admit that the book's cover page really depicts the content of the book. I really like it. The consequences of war are invertible, and mass destruction is always witnessed. From this insightful review, the book is all about war in Vietnam.

Thank you for such an honest review. As I do not enjoy military war stories, I will rather skip this one.

This is a slow paced yet powerful novel that centers on the theme of war. It narrates an up-close and personal encounter of the horrors of the Vietnam War. The book is a must read.
The review is superb.
Congratulations on Botd 🎉

I am not sure about it not being suspenceful although it is a war narrative. I love that you said readers would be able to familiarise themselves with wars.

I've always thought war insane. The Vietnam War was one of the worst. Nobody wins a war. The casualties lose their lives or limbs; the survivors lose their peace. But why do we keep warring? Let's peace instead.

I interested by the theme that you capture well; ‘How do soldiers deal with the trauma of living every day on borrowed time?’ But I’m a bit put off by the significance of the errors you point out. Maybe my general interest in the Vietnam War will win out in this case, who knows?

I would like to read this book. I have read a lot of books that are in the point of view of soldiers, but there is always the emotional aspect of what they are seeing is missing. The Vietnam war is the most discussed war aside from WW2, since it was televised. I believe that this would be a very emotional and immersive book that you would not be able to put down.

This is a emotional story about the nam war and how war affects people emotionally and physically. Congratulations BOTD!

Historical war books are my favorite. I've not read much about the Vietnam war so this will be a good start.

This is an apt review. Journeying into the mysteries of soldiers at war will be interesting for me to read.
