This review is good enough to tell me it would not be my cup of tea. This is a repeat of hundreds of other books. It needs something to make it be different, like some unusual profession he wanted to pursue or some horrible obstacle to overcome, such as digging his way out of poverty or criminal background. I'm pretty sure this story would bore me.

It show's that you must go through the struggle to reach your dreams. Nothing comes easy and I love how this story feels real, the book was nice.

When certain family members are dismissive or hostile to Kevin’s goals, one gets the sense that something must have happened to their own dreams in the past that may have embittered them.

This is an interesting reviewer observation. Whatever the intent of the author, this observation can serve as a writing prompt for follow-on work.

Reading the Amazon pages and then this review makes me want to read this book. I don't know if the errors I read on Amazon are like that in the book, but twice the word were was used when it obviously should have been where. I usually prefer novels to novellas but this sounds like an interesting read.

Thanks for the review. It is interesting that you mentioned that Kevin's story did not end with the novella. I would think if this was going to be a part 1, whether a series or just a 2-parter, that the author would have stated as such. I wonder if it would leave me wanting more.

GKCfan's review of The Compulsive Move by Phillip Cornell was very helpful to me. It helped me understand the main focus of the book and the direction it's heading in which is something I wasn't able to ascertain from the short sample. Now I have a better appreciation of Kevin's journey in pursuit of his dreams. Thank you!

Well written review, the story sounds inticing and I'd be interested in reading it. Just enough information was given in the review to draw you in but not give anything away, it has left me wondering things like how Kevin will go about his goals and what kind of obstacles he will face.

This review keeps it very real. There isn't any fluff in the story or in this review. I appreciate the honesty. The author tells a raw story and provides great life lessons in a short story.
