I just learned that Isabelle Fuhrman will have a part on the movie The Hunger Games. She is the lead actress in the Orphan, which I find a great thriller and horror movie.

She will play the part of Clove, the partner of Cato. Both of them love killing and I guess Isabelle Fuhrman will do a great job on this.

Spoiler: I just finished the first book and really enjoyed it. The time in the arena dragged in a few places, and although I saw the set up with Rue coming, it still worked. I liked how a new tension is introduced once the games are over, and then again at the very end.

I didn't like the muttants at all. I kept seeing the werewolves in Twilight.

Also so much more could have been done with the Peeta relationship, but maybe the author wanted to keep it tame for a pg audience. The violence though makes it pg13, I would think. Racier feelings could have gone along with that.

My favorite parts involve the creativity the author puts into the staging and the stylists and the interviews. I liked the costumes. I also liked the irony in the fact that Katniss is forced to please the very people she despises.

Did Anyone else think of PETA as you read Peeta?

I would have liked to see Prim and Gale again at the end, Gale's expression especially.

Me too. I didn't like the mutants. Also I didn't like the ending not the ending itself but when it was about to end. It was abrupt. <_<

I also liked the interview. I didn't see that coming.

I felt a little disturbed with myself that I was so interested in a book with such a dark story. Putting children in an arena and watching them fight to the death? Who is this author??? Once you get over the squeamish feeling that you are so very wrong for enjoying the storyline, you are captured and enthralled in the characters and their lives. The first book in the Hunger Games trilogy was certainly the best, and Catching Fire was also just as creative. Mockingjay was my least favorite book as we were out of the arena and the story seemed to falter from that point. It takes a creative genius to invent a storyline like this - well done!

At first I wasn't interested in the series until my husband read the first book. I thought it would be a Twilight let down -- too much emphasis on the love triangle and not enough on the action. After my husband's glowing review to me and reassurance that it wasn't romance fodder, I decided to pick it up myself. I'm glad I did. My favorite book in the series is Catching Fire and, unlike most people that I've talked to, I loved how it ended.

The first two books were defiantly better and the third book seems rushed because it was. Her publisher pushed her into publishing in a year due to growing popularity, where as she spent several years on the other two books. Sometimes I wish Collins would go back and rewrite the third book and put as much time and effort as she did the first. Even with the dark story line I highly recommend everyone to read the series.
