I have quite the interest int war stories especially when it involves a lot of action scenes that I can picture in my mind vividly while reading it. Thanks for the review!

I seldom like to read war stories. This sound like a perfect one, especially with the info regarding helicopters and warheads. Thanks for this review.

I really liked your review very much. Unfortunately, I do not like war stories at all, so I would not be interested in reading it. I get bored pretty easily with all the technical details.

Weaved on a true story, a war novel "Pachyderms" by Danny Buoy focuses on an young American, Dan Coobat, who is deployed to South Vietnam to work with an assault helicopter company. The fast-paced suspenseful plot and the premise appears to be entertaining.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

I am not a fan of war stories, so I will probably skip this one. Like you, I was shocked to read how much of an emphasis is put on documentation and paperwork. I never thought aviation was much more than flying a plane; shows how little I know! Thank you for the lovely review!

As the daughter of a Vietnam veteran that rarely talks about his experiences, I truly appreciate books about the Vietnam War. It was disgusting how the returning veterans were treated when it was the politicians calling the shots. War is never pretty. This book sounds incredibly interesting to me. I am curious to read more about the unknown units. It doesn't surprise me the character was trained for Infantry and then expected to work in a different role. Apparently, it was a pretty common occurrence. It also doesn't surprise me the paperwork was so important. My dad's status was unknown to my grandmother for 6 months because of a paperwork mistake and he never did get all of this stuff back. A good clerk had the most important role. Thank you for the great review! I'm definitely reading this one.

The best war stories speak of the bond between comrades. It's good to see a Vietnam book focus on the aviation unit. Most 'Nam stories I've seen dwell on the ground troops in the jungles and villages. It's refreshing to hear about the experiences of other departments.

I generally don't enjoy stories about the military or war. Still, this one sounds informative and very detailed. I already knew about the overabundance of paperwork, but it's still interesting.

I believe you have highlighted some good points of the book that I appreciate too. Friendship and "having the other's back" at a time of war, bureaucracy affecting the military, as well as a nice, readable style, with humorous accents.
Thank you for the nice review!

I'm a sucker for a good Vietnam book and the fact that this one has a fast-paced and suspenseful plot clinches its spot on my to-read list.

Well, the cover sold me because I adore elephants. However, this is a war novel. It sounds interesting and is based on a true story. Congrats on the book of the day. Great review.
