CN and AM Williamson were a husband and wife team who wrote sentimental adventure novels during the late Victorian and into the Edwardian eras. They were really popular in their time and it is a shame they're forgotten now; their novels are very addictive and their use of language is lovely. I recommend their work to all romantics and people who enjoy flowery use of words.

I enjoyed Traffic....by Tom Vanderbuilt.

Sounds dry and boring, but it was nothing but surprising and interesting. I saw a review of it in the New Yorker and was hooked. I still think about the book a lot, it was so interesting to read about facts about drivers, roads, driving in different countries, etc...

It seems that no one else on here has read Ender's Game, or the Belgariad series, which were both absolutely wonderful, and I encourage people to try them!

Any book by Jasper Fforde in his Thursday Next series. I'm not a librarian but only librarians appear to have read his novels.
