This fictional coming-of-age story sounds like a nice read. I like it that the story traverses themes of acceptance, gay sexuality, mental health, depression, rejection, fear, suicide, loss, grief, and love. However, this is not my type.

It's quite impressive how this book is described in review, easy to say it left lasting impact on reviewer, so thank you so much for sharing your feelings about the book. Normally such bibliographical coming-of-age story is not my type of thing, but I am ready to give it a try based on all this tidbits in review and anticipating good writing.

I think the dark themes in this book (suicide, depression, etc) turn me off enough to skip this one. Thank you for this informative review!

This is a collection of short stories that explore the main character's life and sexuality. It's mostly based on the author's experiences. It also explores difficult topics like suicide and grief.

Conner's life story seems to be interesting and worth reading. I like how the author featured Conner all through the stories. Unfortunately, I don't fancy reading books portraying a collection of short stories. I'll pass. Congratulations on being the BOTD.

It sure sounds like a wonderful book. I could tell from the review that the author really did justice to homosexuality as a theme. Thanks for the review.

This book sounds intriguing. If the quotes you included are indicative of the writing style, I think I would very much like this one. Topics like mental health and sexuality are difficult but essential to address, and it's refreshing to see this visibility in literature. I hope a lot of readers will feel represented. Thank you for a comprehensive review!

This certainly sounds like an intense read, due to the fact that it addresses themes such as gay sexuality, depression, and other issues faced by a maturing teenager. Although this consists of five stories about a fictional character, it is based on the author's own experiences and this makes it more intense. I believe that it offers some relevant insight into the mind of a young adult confronted by a reality of the world around him, and his own sexuality and his reaction to this. Most males find their way in the world by associating with other young men and guidance from their father. It will be interesting to learn how the author handles these issues in the book. A nice review to read and very thorough, as well.

Appears to be rocky terrain, this book. Hands up to the reviewer for giving a review with explicit details, keen insight and express it the way it is.

This book seems intense and sad. I'm more for an upbeat kind of book, but maybe I'll give this one a try. Thanks for the review!

Great review. The author captures different human emotions from depression, suicidal thoughts, loss, grief , love among others these are emotions that we can all relate to. He speaks about how different characters react in such situations. Looks like an interesting be read.
