This fantasy narrative is so inviting, judging from the summary of your review. I also like how you have factored in suspense to revolve around the missing girl, who is pivotal in the story.

The blend of a story involving a human world and an animal world sounds neat. It sounds like there's a lot of serious themes to be learned here as well. I don't know for sure if it's the kind of book I'd get into yet or not. I would have to read a little further before I could tell. Thank you for your book review and recommendation.

Thanks for the freebie, but I just don't have any interest in the story of Maggie and Princess Kazi and how their worlds collide or in Maggie's relationship with her abusive husband, so this book's a 'no' for me.

This isn't exactly my type of book, but the author is remarkably skilled in her craft. I enjoyed the pages that I read and found the review to be engaging. Congrats to the author on BOTD honors!

It's interesting that this story has so many mature themes when many elements are typical of children's literature. I'll have to sample it for myself. Thanks for an interesting review.

A story that merges human and animal worlds together sounds fascinating. I love movies that play out in that format, and I'm certain I'd enjoy this book. Thanks for the review.

I read a little over 20% of the book and I found the story very compelling. The backdrop of Africa and the animals is a wonderful feature of the story! There is nothing more frightening than a child being abducted. When I got to the elevator scene with the graphic description of erotic behaviors, I lost interest in the book. I will have to pass on this one. But the story is very well written.

The story sound suspenseful, I can't imagine what Maggie has endured an abusive marriage and to miss her daughter it's too much for her. I am very interested, I will read the book. Thanks for the engaging review , congratulations to the author.

This story is truly one of redemption. The main protagonist grows to understand that indeed emotional abuse should have no place in a marriage. I loved how the author chose such an unorthodox setting to discuss deep issues and I feel really motivated to try my hand at this book. Great Review!

Sounds strange, but nonetheless interesting. Even though I normally try to avoid any storyline which heavily involves "sexual and physical abuse" I do like to know how this plot will plays out to the end. Thanks for recommendations and for giving it free!

The fact that the author blends the story of those strong women and the animal world sounds interesting. I don't think I have ever read a book like that, which also talked about abuse and relationships, such as friendship. I might give it a try. Thanks for the insightful review and great job!

From what you say, this is a wonderful illustration of the saying, "A friend in need is a friend indeed". I am not very sure who the target readers of the book are (that is, besides myself); the book is for me, a fully-grown woman, but it also addresses the little girl in me who still loves fairy tales and stories of the brotherhood between humans and animals. Perhaps it is for mothers to read and tell what they can to their fairy-tale-fan children.
Thank you for the nice review!
