This sounds like an exceptionally well-written novella. The characters are perfectly developed so that the reader can easily feel what the characters are feeling. Be ready for an emotional ride. Thanks for the thorough review!

"Lizzy Baby" by Sarah P Blanchard - A novella about friends Lizzy, the daughter of poor farming folk and a newcomer to the village, Stephanie, whose parents work in the city and are rich. The two girls become firm friends with Lizzy awestruck by her new friend. Lizzy obeys her parents and worries about the path to adulthood. When an older cousin opens her eyes to sex, she is very concerned about how to handle it. Should she confide in Stephanie, or her parents from whom it is doubtful she will get support. Thanks for the review.

Where the review starts nice enough about the life of a young girl on a farm, it turns ugly when Joey comes into the picture. Having kids close to Lizzy's age, I don't think I want to read a work of fiction on such intense topics.

This sounds interesting and disturbing at the same time. I will definitely read the book due to its brevity.

This novella seems to be about quite a courageous girl who faces all the circumstances and, as I am hoping, coming back with better well-being. Novellas are short novel types that don't get a good chance at character development. It's good that the author has accomplished that. Thanks for the review.

Talking to your parents when you are young is so important. Of course, it’s the parent’s responsibility to make sure their children feel comfortable doing so. Otherwise they will get their information elsewhere.

First of all "Lizzy Baby" sounds like a really good title for some rock 'n roll song. The review is makes me want to read the book. I am really in to the pyschology of child development. Such things like incest and molestation at such a young age really intrigue me. So a story like this could broaden my perspective even though it is fiction.

This is a nice review. In my opinion, if the parents decided to freely talk about this topic to Lizzy she would understand what to do in such a trying moment.

The emotional and physical awareness you describe sounds like a vital part of an emotional coming of age story. Sometimes parents don't always have the best approaches to educating their children, but who do you really blame? The book sounds really good, definitely adding to my want to read list

From the book's cover, I thought the book is for young adults. However, reading the review made me think that the cover is a bit misleading even though it's about a 9-year old-girl. It's an interesting and short story.

The way they introduced sex to Lizzy is shocking. And her cousin who shouldn’t be doing that in front of a child added to her shock. The story is interesting and I would love to know what Lizzy will do. Fantastic review!

The book sounds really great. Well-portraited characters and main issue. Sex-education is really important for the youth in the new era and this book emphasize it in a clear and interesting way. Thanks for the great review.

I don't think that the theme of this book attracts me, but readers who enjoy coming of age novels that bring the life in small towns might like it. Congrats on BOTD to the author! Thanks for the informative review!
