It is heartbreaking, ten years old boy run away from home, because lack of parents attention. It's hard from him to see her mother suffering of some trauma. And i guess he was blamed for that.
Reading your detailed review is like a preface for me to understand how intriguing the story. Awesome 👍Thank you.

In addition, the novel has narratives about sexual assault, child maltreatment, and the torture of some prisoners of war. Hence, some sensitive people who have had such experiences may not want to read the book.
That makes sense since survivors of sexual assault, child abuse, and soldiers are the most common populations that suffer from PTSD. I hope Pete finds happiness. No child should suffer through that mental hell.
Thank you for your sensitive review.

I enjoy reading psychological, fast-paced novels. This book certainly looks intriguing. I am glad the author provided insight into post-traumatic stress disorder, and more importantly, disclosing ways to cope with it. I look forward to reading this book and finding out more about Pete and Jake. I enjoyed reading your insightful review.

Pete's life is not easy. A ten-year-old boy should never have to deal with the things that he had to. I wonder how the story will move on. Thanks for the detailed review!

Pete probably has been suffering silently. The trauma suffered by his mom bring his problem to the open. I'll love to read this book to learn how mother and son resolved this problem. Thanks for the review.

Saving Superman" by Kathleen brought a wonderful story of poor family. Just a ten year old boy Peter Martin went through hell at his young age. Her mother faced it as well at Memphis, that's a pint yo consider as we get this review. I would love to know more what happened at the Memphis. The way author used Jakes is so interesting, what a wise man. Well reviewed by the team. I liked this line in chapter two page 10.

“By the way,” he said, “since you’re spending the night, I’d like to know your full name.” “Pete Martin.”
Thats answer from young boy, this is a great character. Kathleen nailed it here ..

The plot sounds intriguing, alright. But since it seems to contain descriptions of child abuse and because I get triggered by those concepts, I should avoid reading this one. Great review.

From the few pages that I read, it's apparent that Ms. Sales is a gifted writer. This type of story isn't my cup of tea, so I'll be skipping it. But I'd like to congratulate the author on her accomplishment and for being awarded BOTD.

Quite a story about Pete and his mom and what they had to endure in Memphis. The topics addressed are heavy and intense, definitely not an easy light read.
