It would really be fun if a few of you won copies of the book. Then you could read it and we could have a little book club discussion. My rule would be we would have to eat Iowa homestyle-type food while discussing the book!

I will definitely come on here for a discussion if I win the book! What are Iowa homestyle foods?

I just meant hearty, home-cooked food....
The main character lives with his grandparents on their Iowa farm during most of the story. Grandma is also cooking comfort foods.

Ooh, comfort foods. Now I really want to win this book! And go off my diet! All at once!

My grandma used to cook comfort food--fried potatoes, chicken and noodles, cornbread, fried catfish (that we'd catch), OMG, I'm salivating now. Are those the kinds of foods in this book?

I don't remember the exact foods except for maybe fried chicken. I just remember Grandma Rose always cooking!

Sounds like a great story. Great review too!

Thanks! It's one of those books where the characters feel like your friends.

Did anyone win one of the books from the author's giveaway on Goodreads?
