This book review did a great job of breaking down the plot synopsis. It also described the characters well, without giving away the whole story. The review is well written and really makes me consider reading this book, despite the fact that it is not my traditionally favored genre.

"What ultimately transpires between these two men is an example of humanity winning out over hatred." If we could only transport that feeling out of the novel into our everyday experiences! Thanks for the review.

Good review! You made the book sound very interesting, "comical back-and-forth retaliations" is not what I expected from a story of this genre and setting.

This is undoubtedly a great review, though Sahmoun2778 acted the Khan's script when he literally stopped abruptly after his evaluation of the plot line, thereby sabotaging the readers' quests to salivating more of his skillful analysis. I am overwhelmed by the emotion and humanity displayed by the two "enemies" from Indian and Pakistan sides. The same emotions would played out in Nigeria, Kigali, Palestine, Yugoslavia, Russia el al in similar circumstances. The import of Patankar's pontification is that, amidst diverse political leanings, religious persuasions and ideological dichotomies, humanity still runs through human's veins. Kedar Patankar desires a special recognition for making this huge contribution to humanity.

The storyline is captivating, I have never been to India or Pakistan but from the book I have learned of the border and how it is patrolled, the nature surrounding the border and how people and the military related. The soldier was definitely going to have new experiences since he was fresh out of training.

I love the loneliness challenge. I love the brotherhood emanating from human isolation. It gives us a lifetime challenge. No matter what or where we are,we are still human. The review is kinda lighting a the story at a gravity that tells you: go for it,read it.

Great review! I look forward to reading this book. The concept of finding a human connection with someone who is supposed to be the enemy is very powerful.

An interesting set up. The plot seems well structured and sounds like a great read and funny too. Great review!

Your review just strengthened the feelings I got after reading the sample pages - this is the type of story, style and characterization I adore. To find a strange sense of humor and real, imperfect people in a painfully realistic situation I'll most probably never experience first-hand.
"Humanity winning out over hatred". This says it all, really.
One more piece on my ever-growing to-read list.

Your review has sparked interest in me. I would definitely read this book.
