The story follows Ricky's life from childhood to adulthood and confronting his problems with therapy. The story seems rich in content. The review is beautifully written. Congrats on BOTD

Life is hard on its own so let's make it easier for each other if we could.

The Fish House is a fictional novel by G. L. Rockey, set in Biloxi, Mississippi, following the life of Rick Carlson. The story begins with the disappearance of Leo Mancuso, Rick's biological father, and his mother, Carmella DeAngelo. Rick's life is filled with challenges, including financial struggles and troubled relationships. After inheriting a restaurant, Rick and his partner Julie Valach attempt to revive it. However, tragedy strikes, and Rick undergoes therapy sessions with psychologist Dr. Sami Prothero. The book's engaging writing style and engaging interactions between characters make it a thought-provoking read. However, the abrupt transition from a light narrative to deep philosophical insights and formatting issues can be jarring. Despite these minor drawbacks, The Fish House remains an engaging read.

The book seems quite interesting and thought provoking due to the conversations between Rick and Sami. I also would like to see how the author managed with the help of slang to create "an atmosphere reminiscent of an old mafioso recounting events from his past". It will be interesting to read this book. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

From your review, it appears that the novel is engaging and complex. I'm drawn to books that boldly tackle the intricacies of the human experience. Although you noted a sudden shift in tone from a light and engaging narrative to profound philosophical reflections on the protagonist's psyche, this transition has piqued my curiosity, and I'm intrigued to learn more about this aspect.

The book seems really interesting at the start. Had to stop myself once I started reading, and was already on chapter 4 However, reading the review, I don't think I would continue with the book given that it has a philosophical side as well.. Not a road I'd go down :P

I delved into "The Fish House" with scepticism after encountering negative criticism from comments about the book. However, as I immersed myself in Rick Carlson's life, I discovered a narrative that spoke to the struggles many of us face in finding purpose.
I believe in something greater than myself.

Tragedy befalls Rick, who winds up in therapy sessions with Dr.Sami. Dr.Sami derives his insights just by letting Rick vent about various topics, from his fears to existential crises. Will Rick find meaning in his life? This book sounds lovely from your review. I ought to add it to my bookshelf.

The book seems to be rich in every aspect, but the one that impressed me more is the one of well writing. Books that have excellent writing styles always leave you with a nice feeling in your mouth.
‘When you do a good deed, people are grateful, and that creates a nice feeling inside you; and then because it feels good, that makes you want to do more good deeds. That repetition is the cycle of goodness.’

I did find a host of errors in this book. It was not professionally edited. Thank you for your honesty. The story sounds interesting. I wish authors would use professionals to edit their work.
