Thanks for your review! I just read the first couple of chapters and the foundation is solid. I am glad to see, through your review, that the story focuses on June and her struggles. I'll be reading this one in the near term.

This sounds like a fascinating book. The idea that an ability can cause ostarize an individual really peaked my interest.

I like the 1950s setting and that June has psychic abilities. Sounds like an interesting read. Thanks for the review!

It doesn't seem like a typical novel. It's just sad that the book had some lack of proofreading. But I think it's okay. I mean, as long as I can understand the story and it has a good story, I don't mind it at all. Thanks for this wonderful review. I'll be happy to add this on my TBR.

Thank you for your wonderful review. I didn't realize from the overview on Amazon that there was a psychic theme running throughout the book, with tarot cards, etc. (although "mysticism" was mentioned, though that could be almost anything). The overall story sounds great, especially the conflict with Catholicism (I was raised Catholic), but I lost interest in the book when I learned of the psychic themes. Too bad.

I'm not a fan of feminism. Also I found the story rather time consuming and not that interesting to me. But I hope this book is a good read for those who like this genre.

Pitting Catholicism against Paganism is a very interesting theme to explore! I am curious to see how it plays out. Gender inequality is just as relevant today as it was in the 1950's, although it looks different now. I am interested to see how that is treated. Thank you for the review!

You did an awesome great job in your review of the book. The fact that you mentioned the inequality that existed in the 1950's shows that you read the book with understanding, putting into consideration what the author was trying to portray by making a woman (June) as the main character. Without minding the fact that woman didn't really have a say in their society as at that time. Also, your observant of the grammatical error in chapter 29 shows you put in all your attention while reading it, giving attention to the tiniest information passed a crossed by the author. Good Job!!!

The book seems to be amazing. Having to do with acceptance and reconciliation, I am sure the masses of this world could use it. Thanks for the review.

This sounds like a fantastic story. It is hard for children (young or old) to branch out from what their families beliefs are or even explore other beliefs so far. I am sure June would have felt especially ostracized if she had psychic abilities and her mother had passed away leaving her with a highly religious catholic. Being in school and have these abilities would also have been isolating and would probably have caused a great deal of fear for June about how people would react to her. Great Review.
