I like romance and historical stories. This seems to be an adventure too, with their search for the lost mine. The characters seem interesting. It's too bad about Gretas character that's not so relatable. Thanks for your review!

I like that this romance novel has some historical aspects to it as well as some mystery and adventure. The prologue is great to give some more backstory to the characters and the storyline. Thanks for the great review!

I love the portrayal of strong female protagonists, especially in a historical manner. Excellent review! You have certainly inspired me to read this book.

I think I'll try this one! I like the idea of a romance novel with a developed male love interest. Great review!

The book sounds interesting and intriguing. It has lots of adventures, an earthquake, paternity suit, kidnapping, mutiny, blackmail and of course a romantic line which will be interesting to read about. This book will definitely keep the reader on edge wanting to figure out what will happen next. Thanks for making it free and congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I like a book with an original story, based on "historical roots", but gold mining is not quite the first-choice "drill" for my personal escapade. I'm sure the right audience, will enjoy the hunt for treasure, which it seems to be a gripping adventure. Thank you for your fabulous review!

This story seems to be focusing on the point of view of men and the way they do business. It is a man's world where a woman doesn't seem to carry her weight very well. The mining process should be interesting as well as the numerous twists. From the review, I didn't get how this was a romantic novel. It seems like the couple relationship is barely existent, which is intriguing. I downloaded and I think I want to try this.

Very thorough review. I love that there was a historical element to this book. It sounds like the author really had trouble portraying his female character, which is a shame because it sounds like it had the potential to be a very relevant topic for modern women.

I'm not interested in gold mining and romance. From the description I didn't find characters interesting either. It seems that this book is not for me.

Well, I have just completed a book that had a female protagonist with a nature akin to that of Greta. Even though the summary evokes the reader inside of me, I will be passing this book for now only because I do not wish to get into the mind/life of another irksome woman.
Your review is amazing and has a thing or two that I can learn from it.

I don’t normally read historical romantic fiction, particularly of the type where women were undervalued / demeaned (even though it’s historically accurate, that kind of attitude gets my goat.) So I do not reckon I will be reading this book, but your review is good. I’m confused about the part where you said “I only noticed several errors.” Did you mean seven?
