Using poems to discuss modern issues is a unique way of passing a message and the author has covered a variety of topics even those that are thorny. e g the poem "come out"
Nice review

‘Shine a Light’ literally shines a light on real life experiences, some of which are personal to me. This collection of poems shows just how vulnerable we can be when nature and fate unexpectedly throws things our way; life can sometimes be cruel!

Beautiful.....I love the fact that the poem states a lot about adolescence and the fears and changes that come with them, it also speaks about the social vices and experiences with the society......The review also states that the writer used a simple and easy to understand style of poetry.......so it's a good one

Beautiful review. I really love anthologies and poems. Anxious to see what this book contains and understand the complexity and language of the poems.

Our mistakes and misfortunes we experienced all through the stages of our lives doesn't actually defines us... rather it grooms us to who we are.Nice work.

I love many things about this book and the author, the poem and its inspirations, and the author's courage, and strength to overcome the unforeseen circumstances that befall her.

Shine a Light by Nicky Corcoran seems like an exciting book, but it is not my cup of tea. So, I will skip it for today, but I will recommend it. Congratulations on the BOTD.

I don't really enjoy reading poems but because this one touches several interesting topics and talks about the life of the author. I'd give it a try. Thanks for the review

I’m not normally one for a book of poems, but did find this quite interesting from the excerpt. The first two poems and what they narrate is an interesting way of exploring feelings at points in the authors life. I would be interested in reading the rest of the book.

This book sounds like a great read. I like how the author used poems in narrating her life story. I hope the author works on the negative aspect of the book. Thanks for the honest review.

This anthology consists of several poems detailing the author's life experience. The personal touch on the poems make them relatable. I love the message of making the world better contained in the book.
