The plot sounds a little complicated but I'm glad you enjoyed reading the book. Thank you for the detailed review.

Great review! I also just reviewed a book with a same sex love story. I don't have a preference either way, but I do like that authors feel more comfortable now to write these kind of stories. This sounds like a great book, even with the pacing problems. I'm going to have to check it out!

From the description of the book, I could not tell it was about gay men. Not a problem for me but you are right, some people don't read that genre. That said, I was a young adult in the 70's and I can see how this would be about a forbidden love. Love your description of the book and your honesty. Thank you for a nice review, Happy Holidays!

You say in the review that this book is a suspense/thriller novel as well as being a love story. I would have liked to hear more about that aspect of the story to give me a better idea of that part of the book. But thank you for your honest opinions.

Such pain, loneliness and emotions in a love story can only come from you. Congrats on being the BOTD. ☺

Nice job on the review! Interesting that the author doesn't mention that this story is about the love between males. I downloaded it and read about it on Amazon, and would not have known either until I started reading it. I don't know how many books are written that include same sex relationships, but it seems like the author would want to mention that his book does involve the love between men. I would think that he would have a wider fan base that way because some people looking for that type of book, may skip over this one because they don't think it fits what they are looking for. But, maybe I'm wrong....

I'm really glad I downloaded it though because I'm sure we can all relate to the main character in one way or another. I know I have had my heart broken in the past by someone who didn't love me the same way I loved him! I'm not sure if I went through the same struggles that the main character in this book did because I had love from other places to support me, like from my family. I guess I'll just have to read the book and find out what happens!:-) Thank you again!

Great review! I'm glad you were able to identify subjective criticisms and still justify a 4 star rating. Sounds like a great read!

I myself do not enjoy books about same sex relationships. But this review was very good and appreciate the relationship being disclosed. Congrats to the author on this being BOTD.

When I read the plot description, I had no idea that it would feature a homosexual relationship. This doesn't bother me, but if I'm browsing summaries and reviews for characters that I can easily relate to, their sexual orientation would be relevant information. I think I'm more concerned about the criticisms regarding dialogue and descriptions. Thanks for making the review so thorough.

I also had no idea that this was a same sex story, but I have no problem with it. In fact, I find it refreshing. Your review makes the story sound interesting. Thanks for the objective and insightful review!

Thanks for the great review and I appreciate the honesty regarding the relationship dynamic! Unrequited love is painful for anyone and dealing with those feelings can spin people in many directions. it sounds like an interesting book which I will add to my long list of must reads. So many books, so little time....

This is a very unique plot. I've read many stories about unrequited love but nothing quite like this one. Great review!

When only reading the blurb i was super excited for this book. Now after this review I'm not so sure. I'm glad to be informed of the same sex relationship.. as if I was told I would of read it happily but the fact that it was not disclosed bothers me.
