A nice romantic crime thriller "Now or Never" by Mary Wasche, which follows Jennifer Davis, who rebels against her family because she felt unloved and being taken advantage of.

Jennifer does all the household chores and feels that she is taken for granted by her teenage children and her husband. She runs away with her toddler son, Charlie. She loses Charlie when she goes out to the restroom. She contemplates her choices in the course of the investigation into her missing child. I feel her children and her husband need to value and appreciate her. The unfortunate event shouldn’t make her feel guilty about leaving them. I feel the same as the reviewer about Dan. His ego and selfish traits definitely don’t make him lovable. That was a refreshing review.

Now or never quite an interesting novel for women who want to be more than just caretakers of the family but to stand independent in their own careers and live their lives for their own self and not only for their family sake

It is sad that Jennifer had to leave home because she felt neglected. I also feel for her having to get her son Charlie missing and would love to know how all this ends.

Mary Wasche's writing style is engaging and keeps the reader hooked from start to finish. The vivid descriptions of the Minnesota setting, particularly the snowy forest and campground, transport the reader right into the heart of the story.

It is very wrong of Jennifer's family to treat her that way. One of the things that kill a person's spirit is being unappreciative. I'm not surprised that Jennifer ran. I hope that her son is found.

Each person in a family, regardless of gender, has a role to play; the duties mustn't fall on only one person. What does Jennifer learn in rebelling against her family? Thanks for the review!

An excellent review. I agree that Now or Never by Mary Wasche is well-written and fast-paced and relates to many women in our society today. As a male, I appreciate the reminder of how easily we take for granted a woman's role in the family. Men take vows to become equal partners in marriage. Still, all too often, they can get caught up in the self-importance of their education and careers, which define their personhood, and forget that their partner also needs that assurance in their lives, especially if they are stay-at-home mothers. The character of Jennifer Davis is very well-developed and realistic. She resonates with anyone trapped in a role defined by how others see them and who dares to make a fresh start, a new beginning, to become the person they are.

Sounds like quite a motivational and interesting book, because despite time changing and society's rules shifting, some concepts are too integrated, especially those related to women's place in the world. I would like to get a more detailed understanding of the author's views, so thanks for the gift and congrats on BOTD!

Your review is fantastic as usual, Bertha! I sampled the first Chapter where Jennifer decides to change her life, wakes up Dan and the teenagers early, lets Dan make his coffee and pick up his newspaper off the porch, and even instructs him to load the dishwasher. Like you, I found it intriguing, fast-moving, and suspenseful. I also agree that Jennifer's self-doubt and her thoughts after each bold step she takes make her a responsible and caring mother. I agree that this book deserves all stars!
