I appreciate the candid review. As I don't like books filled with graphic language and sexual content; I will probably not like the novel myself. I believe your review is very well written and shows both the good and not so desireable aspects of the book. It does make one curious about the character enough to take a quick flip through of a few pages just to see if it still may be interesting enough to bypass the crudeness. This story sounds like nothing else that I have read and I like that it had an edge to it. I like the character of Pomeroy because of his personality and his self confidence. I can easily imagine his musical abilities and the internal dialogue that is constantly present throughout the story.

I'm excited to read this story and the comedic relief it brings. This seems like a real-life character who can help you realize that someone who has fallen on hard times might be rough around the edges but isn't a bad person overall.
