I enjoyed reading the sample with the young Bridget clinging to her Catholic practices despite not understanding them. I am eager to accompany her as she grows in the faith and in her view of life. While I am Catholic, I did not mind the satirical jibes at my faith. No offense taken. I believe holiness and humor are not incompatible.

That's not to say that dodging Satan isn't serious business. Satan, be gone!

Congrats on your forthright review. I've enjoyed the first 2 chapters and am quite curious as to where it leads. The glow in the dark slippers had me giggling, whilst imagining Bridget staring at them, and all her humorous remarks about her dad's smelly feet.

review looks nice which gives information about captivating story about Bridget who was born to Irish father and Italian mother with her bringing up in catholic family
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

The title of the book "Dogding Satan" made me scared as it might be a horror story. But when you go through it, it's really funny and amusing :lol2:
I would give the author and this book a 5/5. Good job

Thanks for your review. It’s good to know that the serious issues behind the humour are tackled as well.

I do not find the title or the cover very appealing. Frankly, I was just wondering why the title of BOTD is so often about Satan or the devil. The review is good, thank you. But I don't think I will read this.

Thank you for the great review, Kimmy. It is very concise and thoughtful. I read the first chapter and then your review, which helped me discover what was in store for me in the remainder of the book. I liked how you compare Bridget's character with Anne Shirley. It helps get a feel for the novel. It was a very good review - one which will help others make a decision to read or not to read.

I'm not on to some kind of religious beliefs. But it is some kind of interesting staff to look on it. It made me think what this is all about with that title.

This sounds like a funny but complex story. I really appreciate that the author shows the main character questioning gender roles as dictated by religion. Congrats on book of the day! Great review!

Based on your review, this book is a true take on "you can't judge a book by it's cover". Upon first seeing the cover and title, I thought the book was about something totally different. This book is a must read for me. I was raised catholic and just by reading your review I became nostalgic. Thank you so much for your review!

Great review!! I don't think I've ever read a book quite like this one but it sounds intriguing. The quirkiness is appealing.

I think this might be too sacrilegious for me. Still, you did a wonderful, detailed review.
