While I appreciate the historic roots, I'm not too crazy about the romance. I also can appreciate a strong female character breaking the glass ceiling, but am not too thrilled with the idea that there's poor character development or depth to her. The telling, rather than showing, as well as these other aspects make me think it's not a book I'd enjoy.

In reading the sample I believe that the characters appear to be very well developed: as if these people were always supposed to meet and so it happened. While reading about history is not one of my most favorite genres, there is more to the story here and I can't wait to dive in :)

A Woman's Prerogative by Steven C. Brandt sounds interesting the fact that historical fiction mixed with romance is my kind of genre just like this book. I would love to read and explore it. Great review!

The relationship between Greta, who has a wealthy father, and Alex, a geologist and a professor is intriguing and sounds promising. The book also has strong roots into the gold rushes of the 1840s. Thank you for the copy!

Oof, Greta's weak characterisation might be a turn off, but I'll give this a try anyway. I'd like to know more about what Alex gets up to on his mining adventures, if nothing else.

A Woman's Prerogative by Steven C. Brandt seems like a great romance adventure. I will love to read the book. Am intrigued by Greta Sadler, the only daughter of the president of the prestigious Sadler Corporation, and Alex Mackenzie's relationship. Great review!

I am interested in reading romance but the book has a historical touch in it. So I am not too interested in reading it.

Romance and gold mining sounds like an intriguing setting. I liked the illustrations in the book and thought that was an interesting touch for a novel. Thanks for the beautiful review!

I always fall for historical fiction, though I have not yet read one with gold mining background story. But I think I’ll give it a try, because of the perfect rating and also all the adventures inside :techie-studyingbrown: Thank you for the honest review!

Gold mining, family drama, betrayal, and so on sounds captivating, the fact that the book has a lot going on but is still able to maintain good character development is impressive. Great review.

I really enjoyed reading your review of today's BOTD! It sounds like you put a lot of thought and energy into helping potential readers. Much appreciated!

While this isn't one I would normally choose to read, perhaps I could step out of my comfort zone and give it a try. Even though I'm not a big history buff, I do enjoy a good adventure and well-developed characters, so I've downloaded my copy. Family relationships, love, and money combine with various external forces to make today's BOTD a page-turner. Thank you, again!

I liked the setting of the story, mentioned in your review. I already like Alex and how disappointing it must be, to find the character of Greta was not relatable. And, the author must always show instead of telling. I really appreciate your honesty. Thank you for the detailed review. I think I might enjoy this book. keep up the good work.

Based on the review I am not sure if this book is something that I would enjoy reading. I like reading romantic adventure novels. I am not a fan of historical fiction. I also don't have an interest in gold mining. I think that I will pass on reading this book.

I understand your point about the weaker characterization of Greta. This does not sound like a book for me, but I am glad that you enjoyed reading it. Congrats to the author on the 4/4 review.
