The sample and the review cause me to believe this is a very thought-provoking book, and the descriptive narrative does help the reader get an understanding of how difficult the conditions would have like in Vietnam. The errors with the names and the swearing do not encourage me to want to read the rest of the story. Thanks for another excellent review on this book.

This book seems fascinating to learn what it was like being a soldier in the Vietnam War. The soldiers go through so much. Thank you for your thorough review, I enjoyed reading it.

War stories are not my thing but this book appears to have several thought-provoking themes that would appeal to fans of this particular genre. Great review.

The title appeals to me. I like reading and learning about the actual life and human experience of war, much more than the action filled battle.

Books with heavy historical fiction and conflict components are not only fascinating but also educational. It could be extremely beneficial to humanities students, despite its steady tempo. Great review

Honestly, am not into reading historical fiction, especially those ones about war. I also do not appreciate so much use of vulgar language in a book. Thanks for the review.

Books about a soldier's life in Vietnam do not interest me, especially since I grew up during that time period. I missed being an unwilling participant by just a couple of years. I also won't read books filled with errors as described by the Official OBC Reviewer. Therefore, I hope that Mr. Dyer takes the advice and passes the book over to an editor who can turn out a better product.

The thrills of war always makes me wanna join the army and sign up for military training. It's nice to finally have a book that can keep me awake just reading it. I love it.

I don't know if authors or publishers go through these reviews. if they do, they should put much interest into this excellent review. It looks like you really enjoyed this book only for the errors to get in your way. I guess I would also enjoy the book because it appears to be premised on a very valid standpoint; effects of war on the participants. Thanks for this great review.

Wow, thank you for this review. This book clearly shows the horrors that soldiers face at war. I think this topic of the tragedies faced by soldiers is not widely talked about, also seeing as how most of them lose their lives protecting the nation. More books really should be published on this issues concerning the trials and tribulations faced by soldiers at war. Some of the soldiers even depend on drugs to help them sleep well at night and, spend the rest of their lives abusing substances. This review is greatly eye-opening.

I love books about vietnam, and this one sounds like it has an interesting take to it, moving away from the trigger happy commando stories we usually see.

It looks like the author really tried to give a truthful impression of life as a soldier in wartime. I don't enjoy reading about such hopeless situations, but I do believe that the book transmits a powerful message.

Whenever there is war, no one knows how it will end. Vietnam war was a tough one, which led to many negative effects to both soldiers and civilians.
