This book has a lot of energy in it. Working in a world dominated by men can have a way of making women go unconventional ways to stay at the top. But it seems Kailee's childhood went a long way to affect her lifestyle. I do hope she found a better path with the help of her therapist.
"Fuchsia Parade: One Woman's Quest for Sex, Love and Redemption" by Heather Martin is a fictional novel about a woman named Kailee Johnson who seems to have it all. Kailee has a great job, money, designer clothes and an expensive car. She also has no trouble finding men and her dates often end in one-night stands. When she awakens one morning with a hangover, she realized that she did not have protected sex and began to worry about another encounter with STDs. After all of the parties and one-night stands, she realizes that her life is out of control. Kailee is always thinking of ways to generate new business for the construction company she works for and uses work events to prospect for sales opportunities. She confided in a fried about a family tragedy and the friend recommends she go see her therapist This directs Kailee to a journey that will change her life. Kailee tells her own story and brings readers along to her therapy sessions. She continues her wild ways and hooks up with men and women and parties with her boss. Change will come hard for Kailee and hopefully therapy will help her deal with the sexually abusive childhood she experienced. The detailed descriptions of her dates and the sexual encounters with men and women may turn off some readers. I enjoyed the sample and I look forward to reading the remainder of the book about a very rich and successful woman. The official reviewer gave the book 3 out of 4-stars due to typos and grammatical errors.
It must have taken a lot of courage for Kailee to acknowledge that she needed help, to face the past she'd been avoiding for years, whatever lurked there, and reclaim the power to shape her future. Congrats on BOTD!
