The first question to ask is what was John Wickersham's motivation in writing this book? well, he answers the question in the book's acknowledgement. Nevertheless, I am truly impressed by the the story(ies) told in this book. A nice and helpful review, kudos to the author and congrats on #BOTD.

I will definitely read this story! Thanks for a great review and noting that the author has included lots of information about Colorado’s wildlife. This would be a great book for naturalists. I am thrilled to hear that it is well-written and poetic. Thanks again.

Danny's adventure sounds like a pleasurable and educational read. I am interested in both photography and the flying of airplanes so I'm looking forward to this adventure.

This sounds like a fun read. I like the list of adventures, and that the author is able to make the reader feel as if they are right there with the family. I especially want to read about the ghost train adventure.

I have grandchildren in Colorado. I'll bet they'd enjoy comparing adventures with the Gray family. My daughter's whole family, parents and four children, lived in an old train yard one summer while they restored an antique train car. I will be recommending this book to them.

Thank you for the delightful review. 💕

I quite like the time period in which this story is set, but I just don't know about all the factual information - almost sounds like it is more a document for tourists. Thanks for the review.

Typically coming of age story not my choice of reading, but I am tempted by all the educational information and wonderful adventure outlined in the review. So thanks for great job writing it, I will read this book only because of your recommendation.

The adventures in this book make it more appealing to me, even though I'm not really into historical fiction. This review is well detailed. Thank you.

The challenges of living in such a rustic and mother-nature driven place would be great. The adventures sound interesting and entertaining, however, I do not think this is a book that I would typically be drawn to. Thank you for the review.

Thanks for your review! I'm excited to learn about Danny's adventures in the Colorado Rockies. I'm typical not a fan of outdoorsy novels. However, Danny's adventures intrigue me. I wonder how Danny fares when he encounters the mountain lion. The pictures of the trout and other animals included in the book sound beautiful!

From the summary, I could deduce that there are a lot of adventures to be explored by the protagonist. Despite that I think the narrative could be less interesting for me because I love books which have few developed themes.

Fly-fishing and outdoor exploring are simply not my thing, so while the review made the book sound interesting and well-written, I just don’t think it’s something I would enjoy reading.

Lovely review! This book sounds like a perfect feel-good story for adventure and story-telling lovers. Having lived in Colorado for many years, I’m especially sentimental about the mountainous state and know I would value this book.
