This is a great review and it shows that you really enjoyed the book even with your lack of connection with Greta. I would have to pass it though since I’m not really into romantic adventures with historical roots. Thanks

I love historical fiction and think the gold rush especially interesting to read about. I started the book and this review is encouragement to finish it. The character descriptions are interesting and I wonder if the female character not having as much depth is due to the male author? Sometimes, I won’t read a book written by a male author because there isn’t the emotion I want to see. Except for the female character, it sounds like this isn’t the case. I’m definitely planning to finish this one!

Thanks for the comprehensive and honest review. I did get the book as the description sounded interesting, but now I am not so sure that I really want to read it. While I do appreciate some good gold mining due to growing up in Alaska, I am not really a big fan of romance and the description made it sound like more of a mystery/adventure. I also like more character development, and it sounds like this is lacking. I think I'll just save this one on the off chance I someday run out of other books to read!

Wow!, this review is great. Alex, Quid, and Frank are well developed characters. Unfortunately Greta lacked depth and warmth. It's more about romance, and historical fiction. It's a book I'll enjoy reading.

This sounds like a fascinating historical fiction. It’s a little disappointing that Greta was a underdeveloped since she is the heroine of the story, but I am glad the other characters were well established and easy to connect with. Thanks for the amazing review!

Strange choice for the title considering that it is known that Woman's Prerogative is change her mind. So I really don't understand how this phrase can relate to current book's storyline. Anyway it does sounds interesting enough to try it.

This doesn't sound like a book that would catch my interest. Though I like romances, I'm not particularly drawn to ones "based on historical fact". Gold mining isn't really my thing either and Greta sounds like she would be a bit difficult to take in as large a dose as it would take to read the whole book. I'm afraid I'll have to pass on this one, but thanks for the great review!

The author gave the mine an original name! I hope he explains how that name came to be. The time frame and setting of this story are interesting. Usually, when you hear gold rush, you immediately think of California. It would be interesting to see how these events affected the development of Nevada. Thanks for the great recommendation.

I am not a fan of books set in the gold mining era, but since you gave it a perfect score I will keep it in mind as a recommendation for friends who do enjoy them. Thanks for the review.

Greta being a daughter of a rich person relating with Alex, the young intelligent man, should be inspiring to follow, as the two youngsters enjoy themselves with romantic adventures. The aspect of gold mining too may be thrilling, but I am unsure how the topic of gold diggers will affect the whole plot.

I wonder why Greta treated Alex like a business partner more than a romantic partner. I would be curious to find out why the author chose to write about their interaction this way.

"A Woman's Prerogative" by Steven C. Brandt seems like a book I would like. Romance mixed with history and gold mining? Sounds compelling.

This sounds like a very interesting book and I like that historical setting for the novel. I can easily imagine the dirty and dusty conditions of gold mining. I can also imagine the desert landscapes of Nevada and how isolating it would feel to live there. I think that Greta should have been developed more as a a character to reflect both her strong and loving sides.
