I grer with you. I actually read this book last year. I found the writing in this novel to be especially amazing as it really brings the story to life. The author strings heart break, humor, failure and success together to create a story that is certainly worth the read. I’d recommend this book to anyone, too!

It is always interesting to read about people who rise above the world around them due to an interest in art or some other activity, but artists always seem to be the most captivating. Music or any art can certainly be an inspiration when daily life is filled with unhappiness. The review gives a good description of a book that is obviously well written and that describes this man's efforts to succeed as a trombone player despite the oddsmstacked against him. Good review. Many people have a story like this but end up falling into the darkness. Joey has found inspiration through music and the strength to make it through his tough life. I love story with inspiration and I want to hear more of what happens to him.
