This story sounds like it does a great job of challenging gender stereotypes that are still quite common today. It sounds a bit too sentimental for me, but I appreciate your review and I am glad the author took the time to write such an interesting novel. Thanks!

This sounds like a great story. I know a lot of parents who are furious when they're children join the military, especially their female children. It seems that she has been raised to follow one path but chose to take another. Thanks for the review.

Another military themed book. I love how the author blends Molly's passion and her military ambition to create an intriguing plot. Good read indeed.

Seemingly a war related but at the same time not related story. Pretty confusing. Yet, I decided to give it a try and see. Congratulations on being BOTD and thanks for the free giveaway

The story of a beautiful girl who shatters all her labels and goes to the Marine Corps. Military life is what she dreamt of. It looks like an interesting tale of courage and emotion. Not the kind of book I would read though.

A beautifully woven story that captures the life of Molly, model turned Marine corp. Stationed in Afghanistan, her experiences and interaction make for an interesting read.

This story of this book seems like quite captivating and is about a model and actress Molly Monroe who has a passion of acting on the stage, but suddenly, she surprises everyone by joining military service as a Combat Camera Marine and deputed at Afghanistan. Why she took this change in profession is quite intriguing and hope to read this interesting book soon.

Normally, I do not find books involving the military or war too appealing - just personal preference. However, something about today's BOTD is calling my name. Perhaps it's because the storyline has a female lead, making it more relatable to me...or maybe it's because of your glowing review (nice job!!). Either way, I think I'm going to enjoy this one! Yay! What a fitting choice for Veteran's Day, too. Thank you so much! :-)

Thanks for a very exciting review! You made me curious to read the book and find out for myself what happens to Molly once she joins the Marine Corps to the disappointment of her boyfriend, brother or mother. The temporal flashbacks and the switching perspectives prove the author's writing skills too. I'll give it a try.

Thank you for the thorough summary and review. I've just downloaded the book and I can't wait to get into it. I usually don't pick up books regarding anything military, but I think I'll give this one a shot.

It sounds interesting that Molly goes from beauty pageants to the Marines. The way the story is told is also unique, it adds an air of mysery.

Books sounds interesting from the short synopsis I read. It will be nice to find out how the "Model Marine is sharpened into focus". I hope to get a copy as soon as one is available to download. I have not read any other titles from this author and so this will be my first.
