This sounds like an amazing read, and very applicable to today's social/political climate. I can't wait to read it. Nice and clear review, thank you. :)

The premises of this book is quite interesting. What a costly assumption on the part of the social security. Well, since the book didn't seem to hold my attention, I'll just pass. I hope the others enjoy it.
Thanks for the review.

It is all about a concern for humanity in a way that is rather mysterious. It is a future must read.

It must have been a dilemma for Gato when his benefits were stopped after having been declared dead. With no IDs to show as proof, I would probably be in the same situation as him if I were in his shoes. I love how the author tried to put this issue into the light. Thank you for your review!

I love switching perspectives as a mode of story-telling, I definitely get a sense of strong characters from your review. The struggle with Social Security status may not be one an average person can directly relate to, but based on his relationships, ethnicity, and being poor in Chicago, this novel seems insightful into the cultures of poverty. I look forward to reading this book, thank you for sharing.

This sounds like a good book. I like the storyline and the characters involved. I’m curious now as to the couple’s motivation behind their good intentions. I’ll be putting this one on my future reading list. Nice, in depth review, thanks.

Wow. Your review did way more than the Amazon blurb to make me want to read this book. I am interested in the homeless issue as well as what motivates people to help others. I might finish this one.

Love conspiracy theory scenarios, so this book goes right my alley. Unfortunately for the first time in my experience with BOTD "This title is not currently available for purchase".

I just read the sample on amazon and first thing that immediately caught my attention was the voice of the character. It was so authentic. I kept seeing it in my head like one of those old italian mafia movies with the accent and everything. Definitely got me interested!

This book sounds like it would deal with a lot of emotions. Having the government think you're dead and then having to deal with all the consequences of that unfortunate mistake. I'm glad to hear that you had no complaints about this book and gave it 4 stars. Great review!

This book seems to have a fascinating premise. Also I’m always interested when someone says the voices are clear and well-handled. I’m a sucker for a book that handles different first person narrators well!

I love the use of the multiple perspective narrative technique in a novel. In this case, the author seems to handle it just fine. I am curious to read the poet's view of things. Thanks for your review!

I appreciate your giving us some of your insights into the many layers of the book and ... into your thoughts concerning some of the main character's motivations for the actions they take. The sample of the book provided by Amazon revealed a well-written book and your review makes it additionally intriguing. Thank you!

I like your review of the book considering that is sounded very complex. I like that the main character is an undocumented immigrant who is trying to pursue his dreams while fighting against a system that wants him out of the country. I think that this book came at the most opportune times because of the debate surrounding immigration. My favorite part of the book is the sense of family that develops between the characters.

It’s lovely to hear about the help that Gato received from George and Alexia. It’s an emotional topic and many people wouldn’t want to involve themselves in such a matter.
